Just like AH is our backup nosetackle (like that's gonna happen). Don't get your panties all in a bunch over an unofficial depth chart during the preseason. The 2nd and 3rd stringers get more reps in the preseason so look at it as addition work.

Thomas and Kelly are unproven players fighting to make the final roster, much less be a starter. Thomas and Kelly are third string because of their inability to stay on the field (healthy) and their inconstant play on the field. Not because they are trying to get them more playing time. It is refreshing that Shanahan is going to make them earn their roster spot. Unlike Cerrato's old style of reserving spots for under performing high draft picks. Our roster will be better top to bottom under Shanahan and Allen. At this point I don't really care if Thomas and Kelly make it or not. It is time to move on if they are not going to be consistent producers on the regular season playing field. |

Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
It's frustrating that apparently neither Thomas nor Kelly are making the strides, although Thomas is listed first as a ST returner, which I think he would be very good at. Ah well, bring on the new season!

My co-worker (not the crazy one) where just talking about how WR has easily become our weakest position with the bad news about DT and MK's development. Is there any way to make a play on Vincent Jackson?

Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
This is the first thing I noticed. Wow. Moss and Galloway, Roydell and Armstrong, Then Thomas and Kelly?.... heck only T. Austin is behind them.
I guess it speaks volumes or atleast it should to those who keep saying don't worry Thomas and Kelly are going to be beasts. Maybe we should just stick with Roydell (who was cut a year ago) and Armstrong being a beast this yr. Edit: I forgot about Shay Hodge. |

Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
Exactly, I expected a little more at this point. I know this is just the first draft, but this jumped out immediately. AH 2nd team, Moore starting safety, Carter starting at OLB...not really surprising IMO. I know its motivation for the guys...but I expected at least 2nd team Thomas. Kelly at this point is in serious, serious danger of being cut IMO. I really like Thomas being penciled in at returner. We will see how it shakes out, but IDEALLY we want Thomas as a starter as WR.

He is a free agent. His contract was up and he did not recieve a new one. As noted before he is still out there and if the new guy contiunues along the road of suck, the Red Snapper may get a phone call.

Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
We have not even played a preseason game. I am not to worried about the depth chart at this point. Let's wait and see what happens over the next 28 days before we really dissect everything when it comes to the roster.
I have stated ever since the VJ trade talks, I am behind the caoch and the FO all the way. Whatever they decide to do to make sure we have the best 53 players on the Skins come Sept 12 I am behind. If it doesnt include Thomas or Kelly, well then they must not have had what it takes. These guys have 2 years of tape and plenty of Offseason work under MS. They either impress or hit the road.

Re: The Official 2010 Training Camp Thread
If DT AND MK are really behind Joey Galloway, how much would you give up for Vincent Jackson?
