Re: Big Ben off the hook again.

I don't think they will suspend him more than 3 games. 2 doesn't seem strong enough to send a message, and 4 seems excessive for someone not even charged with a crime.
3 games is a good compromise of being tough yet fair, but not overly harsh. They also don't want to risk a challenge from the NFLPA or Big Ben's lawyers.

Also Rooney is highly involved with Goodell in this, and he doesn't want his team out of contention for a playoff spot. Goodell and Rooney will work in concert for a strong, just punishment, but one that leaves Pittsburgh in good playoff position.

I will be very curious to see how the new schedule shakes out. I would not be surprised if the Steelers have an easy start to their season. Conspiracy theory? Maybe, but Rooney Is the NFL more than anyone on the planet.

They're saying now the suspension might not come until Wednesday.
Well Tuesday's news is the schedule...can't ruin something positive. Same with Thursday and the draft. If they don't get it out soon today, Wednesday is their only real option from a news perspective.

While Pittsburg would probably be the most attractive option for Campbell, i dont think Pittsburg would be interested. Tolmlin loves Dennis Dixon and if he didnt quite trust him for some reason, there's always Leftwich, who played extremely well for them in a couple of games in 2008.

Campbell is certainly better then Dennis Dixon (60.2 QB rating and 46.2 completion percentage in an offense that saw Ben throw for over 4,000 yards and a 100+ QB rating) and I have little doubt that at this point he's much better then Leftwich but I guess in the end all that matters is what the Pittsburgh front office thinks.

Leftwich is with the Buccaneers. Batch is the #2 guy for the Steelers.

Why would Campbell want to go back to college and play for the Gorillas?

For example, a member of the Pittsburgh media shared with us today the latest "Ben is a big jerk" anecdote that's making the rounds. Supposedly, he want into a sub shop this weekend, he ordered $20.07 worth of food, he paid with a $20 bill, and he took seven cents out of the tip jar.

Re: Big Ben off the hook again.

I am sorry , but after the details of the incident were disclosed I am disgusted with this guy. If he were a Redskin I would hope that he left town. He is a bad dude who abuses women. What kind of pro athlete are you or human being for that matter when you try and man handle a woman? drunkin moron. Who has cops for body guards and figures he can get away with anything. Dude is a pos.

4 games is ridiculous, he should have been charged. If the girl didn't blackout the police would have a case. I understand the defense's side of the case and how hard it would be to prove, but OJ got off then got burned in civil court. From the story of the incident described by Lester Munos on NFL Radio this morning with Bob Poppa, I am sickened by the details of not only the girls injuries, but also the fact that Ben's Body Guards (who are police from the State of Pennsylvania and also under investigation btw) wisked the girl to an employee bathroom where Ben then assaulted her. the doctor's reports are much more graphic and don't seem to contain injuries that occur from consensual sex. And on a side note the cop who handled the intial investigantion has resigned for making rude and "inapropriate" comments to the victim.

Suspend the guy as much as you like Goddell.

I honestly don't see how the Steelers keep the guy. They are a stand up city and a good character team don't tarnish the franchise with the guy.

Where is all this about their injuries and the cops stepping down?

Pretty interesting stuff. Ben is guilty of acting like a total dumb ass. But this does not look like rape to me.

How does she know if she was raped or not. She could barely stand.

doesnt matter. why waste a draft pick on campbell when they only would want him for 4 games? Dixon's stats dont matter. Tomlinson loves him. Also, TB would likely give up leftwich for a 7th rounder in 2011. Campbell would be more costly.
