Re: Our next coach??
NFC
Vikings: Minnesota Vikings: Darrell Bevell Falcons: Atlanta Falcons | People | Mike Mularkey Cardinals: OC run game Arizona Cardinals: Russ Grimm OC pass game Arizona Cardinals: Mike Miller AFC Jets: Brian Schottenheimer : Offensive Coordinator : Official Jets Bio : New York Jets Team News Texans: Coach - Houston Texans Colts: The Official Website of the Indianapolis Colts These are obviously not all the Co-ordinators out there but I looked at the OC only in case we were going to keep Jerry Gray and make him our DC. No need to ruffle feathers by bringing in another defensive minded coachm but if the team is looking to "rebuild" then all Co-ordinators are fair game I guess. That is if they will take the job. I get the feeling Shanahan will get the job but in case we lose out for some reason I'm looking at who would be a decent co-ordinator to take the job. I guess if G.Williams took the job as HC there would be some consistancy on the defensive side and Gray could still be DC, but GW would have to find a decent OC to fix this mess and give him whoever he needs as coaching assistants. However I just don't see DS recalling G.Williams back as HC or GW taking the job if offered. I get the feeling a bridge was burned. |

Re: Our next coach??
Honestly I would love it if we made Jerry Gray our Head Coach and Hired Chip Kelly as our Offensive Coordinator. Let chip hire his own offensive staff and keep our special team coach.

Re: Our next coach??
That's it. screw it. We have tried the OC route in Norv Turner. We have tried an understudy in Robisky. We have tried another big name in Marty Schottenheimer. We tried the college ranks with Spurrier. We tried bringing back history Gibbs2. We have tried the next supposedly up and comer in Zorn.
Now no one can agree on one simple name. So guess what. Screw everything and lets try something we have not tried....No GM, No HC. ..No that won't work. but we could let DS hire all the candidates we want. Out source the opponents, call it "The NFL dream team2" since "The NFL dream team1" was Gibbs2 with all the possible HC candidates being on one team. Imagine, Holmgren as GM, Shanahan as President, Clyde Christensen (Colts) as HC (great clock management), Shanahan (Jr) as OC/Asst. HC, Jerry Gray as DC, and make everyone else Hair ball.....I mean Harbaugh and Haslett Asst. OCer's. LOL. Maybe someone else could find a way to blend all these coach's and more better then I. |

Re: Our next coach??
It doesn't matter who our new coach is. The problem is in the Front Office( Vinny.)
Shanahan is too old. Get a GM and let him set up the team. Please leave no hangovers from this staff. This team is 3-5 years out from this point. We are like a 1 year old expansion team. |

I wouldnt be that harsh, we do have some young talent on the offensive side of the ball and our defense is solid for the most part. IMO a few tweaks here and there and we will be back in it.

Re: Our next coach??
Rebuild the OL and get a young RB and LB and we are definitely back in it.

Re: Our next coach??
i agree, especially with the better production from the 2nd year group. I really believe solidifying the OL, and a competent overhaul of the coaching staff, and a new GM we could turn it around. But we will have to see if Dan got the message after the losses to the 0fers, or not.

Re: Our next coach??
^ Maybe but I'm betting JC doesn't stick around. Collins is too old. So who's going to be QB for next yr? I'm not a JC fan but right now he's the best we got.
RB? You don't like what you see in Ganther? he was the Titans 3rd rounder a few yrs ago. I think he looks great. Maybe pick up a late rounder after we have picked up OL. LB? yeah I could see us picking up a late rounder but would rather we picked up a true SAM and made Orakpo a constant DE. |
