Then, Zorn will probably (and I suspect this is what the front office expects) think well shoot those are my two top lieutenants, those are my guys, without them most of this staff isn't even mine and he'll reply with "No, I'm standing by these guys. If you don't want them around then I quit."

And the Redskins will then say "We gave him every opportunity but we appreciate his decision to move forward. We wish him continued success."

or something along those lines

From Charlie Casserly to the guys on PTI to everyone on ESPN and the NFL network, have given this......... "the kiss of Death for Zorn"............only becuase it was done so far into the season .I thnk this was unfair to Zorn..........another Snyder miscue.

Re: Redskins hire offensive consultant

Something smells fishy. I don't like it. Hopefully Zorn can save his job. If Zorn goes, Blache must go. As should Cerrato. Cause Cerrato and Snyder picked them... Will Greg Williams come back? Shanahan? Is the controversy media hype or Snyder reality? I'm afraid it's not media hype. What you all think?

Re: Redskins hire offensive consultant

if you are suprised by this move, then obviously you dont know Dan Snyder. This is a move to undermine his coach and the coaches staff. What confidence now does the team have in what Zorn is saying?? its absolutely a joke. You dont go and get "another set of eyes" after 4 games, when we are 2-2. I know our offense hasn't been great, but if two passes the week against the rams we caught (sellers and Thomas) we aren't having the discussions. If Zorn (who has been in football all most as long as snyder has had hair on his body) wanted it fine, but we all know he didn't. What the hell does Dan know about football?! NOTHING! This goes back to Norv when he won the division, and lost in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Then Danny boy goes out and gets a bunch of overhyped premadonnas that have no respect for anyone but the check and the season goes to crap, ruining the chemisty Norv had built. He gets fired at 7-6 or whatever the record was at the time (when we are in the middle of fighting for the wild card) and Danny never takes blame for any of that. Then we go to Marty..who finished 8-3 over the last 11 games. Has our roster looking good, draft in place and because he wouldn't give back the power Danny gave him...BOOM...he is gone. Which brings us to spurier, he never had a shot to begin with, all though during the first season I thought he was going to be pretty good. Then we have Gibbs who brought us back to some sort of respectability and what happens when he goes...BOOM.. Danny blows it all up by showing GW the door when everyone in that organization, except tweedle dee and tweedle dumb, wanted him as the coach. The two jackasses we have running our team will never learn and we will never have a team that is decent as long as Danny thinks he knows two shits about football. If I was Zorn, I would have told him to shove it up his ass. You can tell by some of the quotes that no one wants Lewis here nor do they think we need him. I personally want Zorn to work out BIG TIME, I am tired of a new coach every two years, new coordinators every two years, new roster every two years. No good organization is ever built this way.

Do people not believe Cerrato/Zorn when they say Snyder did not order this, Cerrato wanted it, Zorn accepted (grudgingly I am sure) and Snyder approved it. This isn't a Snyder meddling situation. It's most likely a Cerrato trying to save his and in the process Zorn's jobs. As for it occurring mid season, when you start off struggling against 3 of the worst teams in the league, it seems like a very good time to bring in another pair of eyes

Re: Redskins hire offensive consultant

Rushing Yards given up by Redskins Opponents this year:

Detroit gave up 143 yards to mike bell (saints), 92 yards to AP on 15 carries, 42 to portis on 12 carries, and 121 to forte on 12 carries.

Tampa gave up 118 yards on the ground to the cowboys, 218 to the bills, 226 to the giants and 125 to the skins.

Rams gave up 147 to Seattle (who beat them 28-0), 79 to portis (who beat them 9-7), 99 to grant (who beat them 36-17), 90 to the 49ers (who beat them 35-0)

giants gave up 62 yards to portis , 228 to the cowboys, 25 to the bucs, and 77 to the chiefs.

I realize different schemes, plans, scores, game situations, lines, etc all come into consideration but its not looking good...

If Snyder was meddling, he would have fired Zorn already.

Bringing in a consultant reeks of a business move...and who is the business man of the year in our front office?

The consultant was Snyder's idea...Sherman Smith was probably Vinny's.

Ok, so we'll count you in as an "It's all the players fault for not exicuting" person.

and a Danny is a "Scumbag" person.

Zorn won't say shove it cause if he does DS doesn't have to pay him but if DS fires him he still has to pay him. I don't think Zorn is that stupid about his money. It's ruining his rep if he had one but I'm not even sure he had one. He was a QB coach. Only 2 times has it worked out in the past.....Andy Reid, and Gruden.

unfair for Zorn? I agree in the sense that he was not OC or HC material. So DS/Cerrato put him in a position to lose.

but lets look at the pot calling the Kettle black. I believe you fans were ready to take off Coughlins head before the second yr.

Had Zorn started out bad and ended good we would feel more positive, but instead he started out good and ended the season on a bad note and is still he has not figured out how to turn it around. That's why he should go.

What proof do you have of this? Oh I forgot we don't need proof to bash Snyder, every move that we don't like gets ascribed to him regardless of what the facts say.

Re: Redskins hire offensive consultant

When Vinny was with the Niners, it was not uncommon to hire consultants. Bill Walsh was one. The Niners still do it, or as recently as last year they did. So I could see Vinny's past with San Fran influencing this decision
