So we're abandoning the defense that's been working for five years to placate Snyder's latest marketing gimmick. We'll see.

It's already impossible for Campbell to be another Ramsey. Ramsey NEVER progressed or made improvements after his rookie season, he still made the same rookie mistakes over and over. Campbell already has improved and cut down on both fumbles and interceptions and made big improvements in decision making (knowing when to run and when to throw the ball away).

So tell me again, how does a thread about AH turn into a comparison of Ramsey and Campbell.

Because someone decided to pull a Campbell/Ramsey comparison out of thin air and derail the thread. :frusty:

Back to the topic though, I found the phrase "space eater" interesting, since I feel that our DTs last year lacked the ability to push the offensive line. I am glad that AH is not going to be a space eater, this guy needs to push the offensive line and collapse the pocket.

So who do you (that is everybody) feel is best suited to play next to AH to better suit his play. Griffin or Monty or Kedric? I'm going Griffin, he still has the push and complements AH pass rsuhing skills.

I think we're in a win/win situation there since all 3 would benefit playing next to AH and all 3 are capable of having outstanding years. Monty would definitely make it a stout middle with the beef he brings.

Patrick Ramsey still has many love interests posting on this site, that's how. I never understood them.

At least the Colt-lovers have his potential to love...he hasn't already tried and failed repeatedly like Ramsey.

SO anyways...I love the D-line this season. We have so many talented guys that we can constantly rotate them to keep them fresher than the opponents' linemen, especially the LDE spot. When Orakpo is rushing from the LB position, we can use that spot as the rotating spot.

Re: RI: Defense Tweaked with Haynesworth 'No Space Eater'

Ive got to say, adding Haynesworth and Orakpo changed the whole dynamic of our defensive line. Where as DT and DE were very weak positions before, now we are pretty stinking deep. Granted, we don’t know who will make the final roster, Haynesworth, Griffin, Golston, and Montgommery, Carter, Orakpo, Daniels, Wynn, and Alexander make for a fairly deep line.

I think Haynesworth and Griffin will be our “starters,” but I doubt both of them will be on the field at the same time very often. Haynesworth is only going to play a little more than 50% of the snaps at his age, Griffin should be rotated fairly often as well. It would make sense to avoid situations where Golston and Monty were on the field at the same time as much as possible, so I Imagine Haynesworth and Griffin will play “tag” a lot and relieve each other.

I’m also curious to see if we still move Daniels inside on some 3rd downs and have Haynesworth move outside, as he did fairly regularly in Tennessee. I’d love to see situations where a RT and TE have to deal with Haynesworth AND Orakpo… it wouldn’t be pretty for the quarterback.

I sure hope big Al is on the field for more than 50% of the snaps or we're not getting our moneys worth. At his age? He's 27.

He played about 60% of the snaps for Tennessee, but that was due to missing a few games with injuries. He averages a heckuva lot more than 50% of the snaps in the games he plays. And the "at his age" comment makes no sense. Not sure where BHA is getting this stuff.
