Re: Cardinals Release RB James
There are teams in the league who have worse RB situations than we do:
1. Seattle 2. St. Louis 3. Kansas City 4. Jacksonville 5. Cincinnati 6. Green Bay 7. Cleveland But that's about it. We're in the last quadrant in terms of RB depth. And our solution is to lean more heavily than anyone else on their No. 1 RB. Which, I don't think is a very sound strategy.

Re: Cardinals Release RB James
The skins have no use for Edge what so ever. The Redskins need a change of pace back behind Portis. Someone who can take it to the house. Betts gets like 5 carries a game...his role is irrelevant unless CP is injured. The Redskins need someone who can present a different dimension to the running game then CP and it isn't Edge or Betts.

Also, the Hasselbeck point you are trying to use was in response to a thread (I believe tounge in cheek) about using MH as a stop gap until Brennan is ready to start, if Seattle would have chosen Sanchez and dropped MH. And yes, I would have approved of that strategy and traded JC for a 2nd round pick this year (hopefully to the Vikings) which could have been used on OT's Loadholt or Beatty. I am one who readily admits that I see Brennan taking over at QB in 2010 or 2011 if we would have acquired MH in free agency. All a moot point now, post-draft. Maybe I was a bit harsh, but...unapologetically so. I do not see the point in some of you guys constantly berating the FO and bashing every move we do/don't make. I do not agree with everything we do but, to answer your quip, yes...I do root for whomever is wearing a Redskins jersey come football season. That's what fans do whether they agree with the personnel or not. I am not a Rush Limbaugh-esque Skins fan. I'll never want my team to fail simply because I don't like the boss's strategy. But hey that's me...keep on hating! |

Re: Cardinals Release RB James
Dude, you're so far off base. Someone questions our backup RB and accuses the FO of being slow to make the proper personnel moves, so they are a hater? First of all, I went on record as saying I have approved most of what Vinny has done the last two seasons. You clearly overlooked that post within this thread. I absolutely loved the Haynesworth and Hall signings while most people blasted VC. I like Jason Campbell and fall into the category of those who wish to add to the O line instead of going after a big name QB. Just because I disapprove of a certain player, doesn't mean that I'm not going to cheer on my team. If we had given up our draft and moved up for Sanchez, I would have been pissed as hell, but I'm still going to root for the Redskins. For you to question my allegiance based on the fact that I want a new RB, and to say that I want the team to fail, is absolutely childish and ridiculous.

Funny you used the pats as an example, they won super bowls without him, and not with him. haha. Quote:
Wow...the ONLY team huh? Sure you don't want to rethink that?

Re: Cardinals Release RB James
Lets make a move for James and get rid of Betts! Lets put Mason in to back up portis and let james be the power back. He is durable and would be a good 1-2 punch for the running game.

agreed. Edge would be a solid pickup... hed be great pounding up the middle when CP needs a spell. Lets sign Edgerrin James (one year deal). then proceed to TRADE Betts. next year WE SHOULD draft another RB. at least a second rounder with potential.
