The Redskins have signed punter Dirk Johnson, according a league source. Washington will be the fifth team for Johnson, who has been in the league seven years and punted for the Arizona Cardinals in 2008. Johnson was near the bottom of the league in gross average (41.8) and net average (35.2) before being released with four games left in the regular season. Johnson has a 41.7-yard career average and a career net average of 35.9. He punted in the Super Bowl for Philadelphia in its loss to New England following the 2004 season.
