Re: Despite win Campbell must go !!!!
I can see that. I thought he would be a lot better than he has been. I think he be very solid though, like you said though let him at least play in the same offensive scheme for a prolonged period of time and let's see what happens when we get some help on the line and Thomas, Kelly, and Davis mature. There were a couple of times today where he and Thomas were off by a half step. With more time and repitition that should improve.

God forbid we give JC an O-line, more than one WR, and more than one season to learn a very complex offense.

Re: Despite win Campbell must go !!!!
If we're smart, we'll trade JC for a 2nd-3rd rounder this year while he still has some value. he wont get it done for us next year. he's far too inaccurate and has too little awareness of pressure to be a franchise QB in the NFCEast. you cant blame either of those problems on the system. they are the same problems hes been having forever. we should sign Garcia or Warner and then groom Brennan or draft a young guy

Re: Despite win Campbell must go !!!!
Yup. Get a better line, let the rooks (including Colt) grow a bit, and if we don't seen Jason revert to the JC of the 1st half of the season, then we can move on to someone else.

Re: Despite win Campbell must go !!!!
Different era where you could keep a great line and great wr's together. I'm not saying we can't win with JC cause I believe we can. I guess we all (including myself) just need to be a little more patient. I guess I was expecting a little more out of him. When I see Matt Cassel and Phillip Rivers having great years, and I look at how pitiful our offense is....it's just so frustrating.

We dump a guy who is 27 and ranked right in the midle of the pack in most QB statisitics in his first season in the WCO with no real weapons and pick up a 37 year old journey man who plays in a system which happens to feature two of the best WRs in the league right now or even better a 38 year old who... well he cannot stay healthy... THEN we get one or two picks in 2/3rd round, one of which we would have to use on a QB .... ..Then park the rookie behind Colt Brenan which if the preseason is anything to go by has to have some of the worst mechanics I have ever seen for an NFL QB ....and you want to hand the future starting position to that guy ... hmm Smart huh ? I don't get it ... |

Re: Despite win Campbell must go !!!!
I don't think he should go just yet, but that halo effect certainly isn't helping. I wish they would at least consider letting Collins or Brennan play in hopes of lighting a fire under Campbelll's butt. Of course the camera angles are so crappy that we can't see whats going on down field until the ball is thrown. So either Zorn's crappy play calling was to blame or JC was unable to find receivers open downfield. However for the most part the offensive line provided JC with plenty of time on more then one occasion to go through his reads and yet JC wasn't able to find anything.
Either way I still say that Zorn needs to at least be supplanted as lead play caller.

I'm pretty sure New England is a team that keeps a very good ( at least) line together. And it's gone out and gotten great WRs. In fact I believe both QB's you list play for teams that are very good at continuity. |

I think he's better than Dilfer, Eli Manning or Brad Johnson (all Super Bowl winners) but he's not as good as Marino, Jurgenson or Moon (HOFers who never won a Super Bowl).

Re: Despite win Campbell must go !!!!
He wasnt that TERRIBLE. For his standards i give him a C-. He had some highlights and some lowlights. Does anybody else believe he should be running more because he had some decent runs today?
