Campbell, Fletch, Carlos, Portis, Horton, Rocky, and even dat boi.
This is always just a popularity contest it never revolves around who deserves to go...My opinion is that we just represent and try to send our boys to a nice trip for once. |

Re: Redskins in the Pro Bowl
I am probably in the minority but I don't care what Redskins make the probowl. I guess we need a few just to be represented over there, but if we get a bunch of guys in the pro bowl next thing you know they will all want new contracts and it could just create other problems. The Pro Bowl is just a popularity contest anyway. The Cowboys had 15 probowlers last year and they suck now.

Re: Redskins in the Pro Bowl
The selection process has to go back to the way it was prior to the 90's, only the players and coaches vote. Being voted there by your peers means so much more.
Fans are not the ones lining up on the field against a certain player. Fans only vote by reading a stat sheet or voting the players on their team. If you were actually on the field and getting the snot beat out of you when line up against a certain player, you vote for that player and it means so much more. The majority of fans do not know subtle skills that make a great player. The best example I could give is a great DB's like LaRon Landy and Shawn Springs. QB on opposing team usually throw the ball away from them so you hardly ever hear their name called or their chances to make a pick 6 is greatly reduced because the ball is hardly ever thrown their way. Another example is a DL or LB that always gets double teamed. So his line mate is free to get all the glory and the sacks. But the player that made that play happen is the one that drew the double team. Fans are not football smart enough to realize that. It also means a lot more when the league players and coaches select a surprise unsung player, because then the rest of the fans outside of DC area would learn how good a Sellers or Kendall really is. Go back to the old system! Fans only cheapen it. Being voted there by your peers means so much more. Last edited by Defensewins; 10-25-2008 at 12:04 PM. |

Re: Redskins in the Pro Bowl
I wouldn't reccommend voting for anyone other than a Redskin...if it were to come down to Horton and Wilson getting the last safety spot, you just canceled out your vote by choosing both players. Just a thought...

Re: Redskins in the Pro Bowl
I think if Horton gets at least 2 more picks he should be a lock for the pro bowl. I think he'll have some opportunities tomarrow against the Lions.

Re: Redskins in the Pro Bowl
Strong safety is still open in the NFC but I think free safety will go to either OJ Atogwe or Nick Collins, so Horton still has a shot...Sorry Laron

Just know Pro Bowl nominations don't equal playoff wins. Now, excuse me while I go kill myself.
