Re: Carlos Rogers Having a Pro Bowl Season
Rogers is an excellent cover corner. Now he is making big hits! What's next? Interceptions?

Re: Carlos Rogers Having a Pro Bowl Season
Hey number 16, check your mid section!!!
This thread is probably driving the C-los hater Hessy to drink. I think if he gets a few more ints, he should be a shoe-in for the probowl. He does look more diesel this year. But on a side note, I think Horton needs a nickname. Dude is just a tackling machine. So I came up with The Predator. What do you guys think?

Re: Carlos Rogers Having a Pro Bowl Season
What do you think about come back player of the year?
The only other person I can think of is Jay Cutler. But I dont know if he should count because its not like he got hurt, but rather diagnosed with a problem. Do they give the award to only people who previsouly had injuries. |

Re: Carlos Rogers Having a Pro Bowl Season
Ditto. we wrote that very thing at DC Pro Sports Report. Alot of people like to talk about Shawn Springs. BUT, Carlos Rogers is not only having his best season as a Redskin, but he he is the best CB in the secondary this year.

Re: Carlos Rogers Having a Pro Bowl Season
could it have something to do with coach Blatches' philosophy? it seemed like the last couple of seasons Rogers was always 10 yards off the ball. now, he is playing alot more press coverage

Re: Carlos Rogers Having a Pro Bowl Season
I had given up on Carlos as a cornerback we could depend on. I thought we ended up wasting a draft choice. In Greg Williams' defense, Carlos would play way back off the line of scrimmage and it ended up being an easy 10 yard gain or more on pass plays to his side for almost everybody we played, and this was in every game. But this year he's playing closer to the WR's and I think he's turned into an excellent CB. I thought the same thing about Smoot, all talk and no coverage. But not this year! They are both good cover guys, and I'd vote for Carlos for the all pro team.

Re: Carlos Rogers Having a Pro Bowl Season
Oh crap! I thought I was coming up with a fresh nickname for Horton. Thanks RMSkins for letting me know.

Re: Carlos Rogers Having a Pro Bowl Season
I watched the game again last night, and in the 4th quarter around the 11, 12, or 13 minute mark I saw a hilarious hit that D. Thomas put on somebody. The play was on punt coverage and D. Thomas just flat out decleats this guy. The guy then tries to get up real quick to not show any ill-effects, and then just falls all kinds of awkward to the turf. Do yourself a favor and check it out. If I had the technology to show this clip I would. Maybe one of the resident video gurus can post a clip. It is funny as hell though.
