Now thats a good point. Who gives two shits about STINKO or whatever the hell it is this week? This thread is on a road to know where, and getting kind a racy...!

Red lights flashing....should be about time to pull the plug on this one. Does it really have any purpose in life. I DON'T THINK SO!

This name change didn't really hit me until I looked over fantasy football matchups this weekend... it's surreal actually seeing the name "Chad Ocho Cinco" in the Yahoo fantasy rosters lol.

Re: Chad Johnson wants to change his last name...

the battle for ocho cinco continues.

nfl: "you want ocho cinco? fine, then you gotta buy all of your johnson jersey's."

this is gettng ridiculous.

It'll cost mucho dinero for Chad Ocho Cinco to switch jerseys - Shutdown Co... - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

Good for the NFL. If he wants to pull off a ridiculous publicity stunt, he should have to pay for the consequences...being all of the jerseys the NFL has already paid for and produced with "Johnson" on the back.

That's hilarious.

I predict Chad WILL buy them all.

Then, in less than 5 years after he retires from the NFL, it will be a deja-vu of the MC Hammer story.

If this was Gilbert Arenas and he suddenly decided he wanted to legally change his name to Agent Zero, you know what he would do? He would buy all the Arenas jerseys and donate them to needy kids. This is a tremendous goodwill opportunity staring Senor Cinco right in the face.

Thread not locked?

Awesome.

I think he should just buy the jerseys, lest he look like a BIGGER jerk (if thats possible) for changing his name to get it on his jersey and then getting owned.

Could be. Do you actually think he is smart enough to comprehend that? Or for that matter do anything out of the goodness of his heart.

Highly unlikely.

Re: Chad Johnson wants to change his last name...

I dunno - Not exactly a Chad backer here but this is just making the NFL look stupid. Asshole or not, the NFL is forcing him to where a jersey that misidentifies him - Johnson is not his last name.

Re: Chad Johnson wants to change his last name...

Did anyone else who's changed their name recently, i.e. London Fletcher, that DB for the Giants, have to pay for the NFL to change their jersey? I don't see how this is a fair decision.

But how many London Fletcher Jersies are in circulation or expected to be sold? I guarentee you that it is significantly less than the amount of Johnson jersies expected to be sold this season.

Re: Chad Johnson wants to change his last name...

You know what? The revenue made by people wanting the new ocho cinco jersey will probably exceed the cost of the other jerseys by far...it can be a tax write off, im not a johnson fan, but let theman have his jersey

Re: Chad Johnson wants to change his last name...

I have given this careful consideration. If I were a rookie wide reciever, I would legally change my name to...............Chad Johnson
