Coaching is to blame too...no adjustments.
Why start passing at your own 10....twice....and they game planned...dont they know the panthers have a great dline?

You need to run right at them...especially to get the oline going...then after seeing the struggles...no shifting to shotgun..

I wont even mention the defensive lack of attacking...to vanilla, easy to pick apart..i sure hope we do more on defense.

The coach has a positive perspetive on Jason Taylor speaking with Sonny

Yes, but to me, there were some real red flags, and Doughty was one of them. Not just in pass coverage, but in run defense. He had a perfect angle on one of the long TD runs (lost track of exactly which one it was) and completely whiffed.

He has always been the weak link in the secondary. The question is if he truly doesn't belong in the starting lineup, and if there's no one else who can take his place, how much of a defeciency does he present for the defense as a whole?

Maybe it was just a bad game. But let's just say that I've always had my doubts about that guy.

Interesting that Dr. James Andrews was at the game with the team. Is that guy on our payroll?

Hopefully just a sprain- Zorn seems to think it's either high or low ankle, not knee. hmmmmm

Re: Redskins vs. Panthers Gameday Thread

Im starting to think our offensive line is designed for a Don Coryell style of offense...run first to set up play action.

I dont know if our line is prepared to go back on their heels to pass protect so often.
Our line is a smash mouth line that like to move forward.
I really think the transition of the oline has been overlooked

The defense overall was just totally abysmal. They did absolutely nothing wrong. I fault the O-line primarily for the offensive problems, but the D stunk out loud in every facet. Big time stench.

The way Campbell was holding on to the ball, it appears he also forgot that the Panthers have a good d-line.

I think Doughty is a good player but just average. He is not an elite Safety, and this is what happens when the rest of the defense faulters, you can't depend on him to save the game.

I hope Zorn coaches him on this area this week. You can't hold on to the ball with Peppers out there. I'm not sure if he should have gone outside of the pocket or not, but he either needed to buy himself more time or just get rid of it. Otherwise, he's going to get killed by the Jax D-Line next week.

I must have missed this earlier Jansen hurt with ankle injury, not sure if high or low. Just caught this on the post-game interview with Zorn on Comcast w/B Mitch & Co.
