I was there last night....my god it was amazing. I really didnt know how much I'd enjoy the ceremony, and overall it had some good/slow points...but seriously, it was worth every penny spent on the trip for that Monk introduction...that was incredible!

I have grown to like Mike Irvin, he can be grandiose but at the same entertaining and funny. This was the classiest class ever, all inductees gave great speeches and were classy guys. A lovefest all around.
Yeah, Michael Irvin made his mistakes, but he changed his life around. If you listen to SOME PEOPLE, they like to bring up his past, but they very rarily talk about the past of some of the players on their favorite team that had problems with the law or substance abuse......... I wonder why that is?!

Anyway, he is a class act and a HOF now, just like DG and AM.

On TV yes it's probably boring, it's one of those things you have to be at to be able to soak in what it all means.
Off topic, what were you wearing Matty because I think I might have seen you when ESPN was panning the camera just after 6p. Were you wearing some sort of Redskins t-shirt? Kind of greyish?

I don't care who these guys played for, I'm just proud to see them get what they deserved.

After what Monk went through with that bulls**t HOF committee, they should be banned from anything to do with the HOF. I'm serious.

You guys are blessed to be able to call them two of your own.
Congradulations to Art Monk, Darrell Green, and the Redskins organization and fans.
Thank you for the props!

The Monk ovation was something I will never ever ever forget. Simply an awesome moment. And Canton was just over run with Redskin nation.

What a message the fans sent to the folks that took their time voting Monk in. Never have they seen anything like this.

I said this in another thread, but it bears repeating. As deserving as Chris Carter is of getting into the Hall, no way in hell he'll get the type of standing ovation Monk got. No way. That should have quitely put him in his place.

And for that matter neither will Jerry Rice.

You are CRAZY.

If you're a true Redskins fan, at least one who watched these two men play, this had to be an amazing event, as it was for me and most of us.

The speeches were both great, but especially Green's. My wife even watched them. I said to her, this is why it's great being a Redskins fan, they are an incredible organization with great people who you can be proud of, unlike a team like the Cowboys. I also thought it was interesting how our players had their sons introduce them and others did not. More evidence that these guys are completely down-to-Earth and know what's important in life (not disparaging the other players).

Seeing Art FINALLY go in and getting to celebrate with a little guy who everyone counted out was thrilling, even watching on TV.

Monk and Green were my favorite Redskins when I was younger and to see them both get in the Hall on the same day will probably end up being the #1 Redskins moment in my lifetime. I can't imagine it getting any better.

Irvin knew we'd boo him when he walked out because we are Redskin fans - it's our job. In fact he smiled when he walked across the stage as if OUR boos were a badge of honor to earn further Cowboy cred.

Re: Today is a Proud day for Joe Gibbs and Skins fans

Irvin was serenaded "Hail To The Redskins" by about 50 of us Friday afternoon in the HOF bust room where they were filming. He seemed to accept it and didn't seem annoyed or anything. He knows what to expect from Redskins fans. I think many of us don't really consider it a personal attack on the player himself but the uniform he wears or used to wear.

One thing that perplexed me was why there a lot of boos for John Elway but not Jim Kelly. As a Redskin fan I consider them one and the same. They both got beat down in the big game. Not that I'm a boo-er anyway; never have been willing to put any extra effort into anything other than rooting for the Skins.
