Re: Offer made on Chad (1st rd '08, conditional 3rd rd '09)
We're sending Ovechkin to the Blue Jackets as part of the deal as well. Also, we're going to become the official website of Chad Johnson. All screen names will now be preceeded with Ocho. And...don't get too comfortable with your first born either.

Re: Offer made on Chad (1st rd '08, conditional 3rd rd '09)
1) Chad goddam Johnson is NOT in the same league as Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, et al, as some have said. That's insane. He's not even the best reciever on his own team, much less all-time great.
2) He plays with an elite NFL QB, and is trashing his team publically because they are not winning. Newsflash: The Skins are a LONG way from being a contender. 3) Do you think getting screamed at on the sideline by some prima dona bitch is gonna help Jason Campbell's confidence and development? 4) Joe Gibbs has obviously left the building if we are making an offer for CJ. 5) No team can afford to pay pro bowl money to THREE recievers. 6) NOBODY is gonna get the ball if we don't have an O-line. COLOSSAL MISTAKE!!!!!!!! |

So TJ is better than CJ, and I didnt know his middle name was "goddam" and yes the Redskins are a long way from being a contender we did go 1-15 last year. Seriously are you making any sense right now?

Larry Michael is Satan:
I agree we shouldn't make the trade, but I think you're overstating your case. Chad Johnson has put up good numbers with a variety of QBs under center not named Carson Palmer. Chad is no Jerry Rice, but he's certainly among the best and most productive wideouts who are currently playing ball. As for our o-line, barring injury, we're in pretty good shape for 2008. |

I think it worth the picks. How many WR come out of college and light it up? Not many. So if do you draft a WR, we are looking at 2 to 3 years before they will probably start to contribute. Look at Calvin. Also, if we pick a WR with 08 and 09 first, I doubt we get a Chad. Plus it seems that this team cant stay together forever, so lets win now and get Chad or Roy.

The guy is a cancer. Period. I wouldn't sign him as a FA, much less give up picks/players for him. TJ is a big possession reciever, as well as a team player, and I'd take him for this WC offense over CJ any day of the week. We are not a playoff team right now, and that's what CJ wants to be on. He's says he's pissed because he's not winning, coming to washington ain't gonna help that anytime soon. |

Re: Offer made on Chad (1st rd '08, conditional 3rd rd '09)
The Bengal fans think that they're going to get some super mega-offer on draft day, and a lot of them also think that the Redskins have a crappy passing game so CJ won't reach the incentives required to bump up next years 3rd rounder to a 1st rounder. It's kind of funny reading it because they're pretty confident that they're going to get a better deal on draft day.
Also if some of you guys think Mike Brown is going to budge think again. I heard a lot of references to an Akili Smith trade, so I decided to look into it. Mike Brown is as stubborn as they come. Cincinnati Bengals Prior to his drafting there was a huge effort by the New Orleans Saints head coach Mike Ditka and management to get the Bengals' high draft position so the Saints could get Ricky Williams. The final offer, which was refused by the Bengals management, was for 9 draft picks, several extra in this year as well as many in the next year. Instead of taking the trade, the Bengals stuck with their initial decision to draft Smith, who, while undeniably athletic -- he had also played some professional baseball -- was still largely unproven, having only impressed at the college level for one season. Smith missed large periods of 1999 pre-season training with the Bengals due to contract disputes; many pundits later speculated that his absence from this short training period hurt him immensely in the seasons to come. Despite incredible shows of athleticism in his early games, he failed to grasp the Bengals playbook fully, and never established himself with the team. Throughout the four years he was with the Bengals, he would only start in 17 games, eventually leading to his outright release in the 2002 season. Smith joined other highly drafted Bengals players such as David Klingler, Ki-Jana Carter, and Peter Warrick who as a result of injury, bad work ethic, bad management and coaching decisions, or simply poor performance, failed to live up to the high expectations that came with being selected early in the first round. Such picks are considered a major reason for the Bengals' dismal performances during the 1990s and early 2000s. Also found this: Brown calls Akili over Saints' 9 picks 'a wash' Yet, Brown is still convinced the decision to draft Smith with the third pick and turn down the New Orleans Saints' offer of nine draft choices (first and third through seventh rounds in '99, first-rounders in 2000 and 2001 and a second in 2002) will hold up under the test of time.

Re: Offer made on Chad (1st rd '08, conditional 3rd rd '09)
Has anyone considered the other side of this? I mean how dumb are the Bengals right now? They have a golden opportunity to cut ties with CJ and move on before training camp and before he can become even MORE of a distraction. Because you know once camp opens this story is only going to magnify. I don't see anyone offering up a better deal and if they do more power to them.
As the PTI guys just put it, it seems the Bengals are cutting off their nose to spite their face right now. |

did we not just make the playoffs last season and twice in the last 3 years and we playin the NFC, TJ is 6'1" 197 and chad is 6'1" 192 so I dont see how Tj is a "big" possession reciever. That playoff statement you make isnt making any sense at all.
