You have to put a young guy in there to develop at the #3 QB slot. Having a vet #3 was a pretty unusual situation last year.

The ideal situation would be to take a guy in the later rounds who is undervalued, and then hopefully he can enjoy some limited success in relief of Jason Campbell, and then after 2010, maybe you can trade him for a first round draft pick.

Not saying that's possible, but that's the only real value a No. 3 QB has at this point.

Do you think they will pick a QB in this draft though?

I think it's better than 90% that they pick a qb in this draft.

Yes, I do. Especially if we have 5 picks in the 5-7th rounds.

Nope, it's going to be a draft pick, preferably someone with experience in the WCO..

If a QB is picked, I hope it is Dennis Dixon because hes gonna drop pretty low cuzza that knee injury, he would be a nice pick up in my mind.

Re: Will Dilfer Be The #3 QB Now?

He would be a great addition especially since Collins has no WCO experience. We already have a young QB and I dont see a need to have a rookie at #3 unless we are looking to rebuild the QB position. Could someone please tell me why everyone thinks we need to draft a QB for depth? IMO, what we need is #1 Campbell, #2 a descent, proven, youngish backup, and #3 an older vet to help develop the two ahead of him. Gibbs kind of had this philosophy. The #3 should serve as a hands on QB coach to accent and provide examples for the actual QB coach. Campbell is somewhat unproven, I will agree to this but there is no need to spend a draft pick on a QB unless he will be our future starter. Not this year. Maybe next year depending on JC but I cant see us drafting one in the next three years.

WE need a young QB if JC goes down or just doesn't get the job done. For one, I won't be surprised if JC doesn't finish out the year again. Also, what happens if JC just doesn't pan out as hoped for? Worst case scenarios for sure, but what if they did come to be? Better have a young guy in the wings to be groomed quick or you will have to wait another 3 seasons for playoffs.

Thank you, finally someone understands why I said that we should pick Dennis Dixon.
