I just can't see Williams staying regardless of the new HCs background. Williams role here has been something more than just coordinator but less than HC and he knows that Gibbs allowed that when nobody else will.

In mind continuity encompasses far more than bringing in a similiar defensive scheme. It would have to suggest offense, teams and defense. Not to mention the culture of the Redskins organization. Schwartz may have solid NFL credentials worthy of an interview, and keep in mind that's all it is, but he most certainly has no idea of the vibe and what continuity actually consists of at Redskins Park. |

Re: May the Schwartz be with you?
I don't think he will be either (though it's not a terrible choice). I think he will be Assistant Head Coach

Re: May the Schwartz be with you?
My bet is GW as head coach, Schwartz as assistant HC - defense.

Re: May the Schwartz be with you?
To who, GW as HC? Then why the initial interest in Cowher? Why didn't GW get promoted immediately? And why would Schwartz interview for a lateral move? And would the Titans even allow the interview for a lateral move?

Re: May the Schwartz be with you?
Could be. And then it might be one of those Jason Garret type things. He was the golden boy everybody thought was going to be the head coach and the Jones plucks Wade Philips for the head job. ( hehehe...I said head job)

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too.

Re: May the Schwartz be with you?
No disrespect to Coach Gibbs here but realistically gibbs was "out of the picture" kinda once Al Saunders came in. Coach gibbs was the middle man for the offense with the power of veto over saunders but for the most part i believe Gibbs took somewhat of a back seat to the play calling once Saunders came in.... I think this is obvious with the 5-11 season in 2006 (saunders 1st year) So in reality, the point i'm trying to make here is: Saunders offense has proven to be effective I believe this is evident in the last 4 regular season games. Cambell went down (Gibbs "boy") and Collins came in (Saunders "boy") and tore it up. Gregg's "D" has also proven itself to be effective so I think that Gibbs decided that it's time to take his bottle of gule home with him because he's done his job and "glued" this team together. Gibbs is a brilliant man and I really don't think we'll see the fruits of his labor until next year and beyond. I know, I have this posted in another thread....

See my questions above posed to SS. It's not making sense to me.

It wouldn't be a lateral move when you take into account the title, Assistant head coach - defense. |
