Thanks Skins

Thanks for putting together a good game under the most tryiing circumstances I've seen in my life.

Thanks for playing hard and physical

Thanks for honoring the memory if a great Redskin

Thanks for providing me with a little bit of a distraction from the tragedy.

I wish we would've won the game, but we'll figure all that out in time... under the circumstances I understand and very much appreciate the effort. I wouldn't have been able to play in that game and what you guys did today was very courageous and I just wanted to share my appreciation.

As much as the loss of Sean Taylor has affected me, I can't imagine what those who were close to him must've been feeling on that field today.

Re: Thanks Skins

Agreed. I think the Skins played pretty well for most of the game especially under the circumstances. Can't ask for much more. They kept it close all game. Good but not great, but then no one expects that after the trauma that has happened.

Can only wish them the best over the next 3 weeks.

I usually force myself to abstain until the following morning before posting. But you're right. They played on pure energy and emotion. The gameplan had to be simple (Thursdays will be even more so). We might not when another game. But these guys fought hard under some horrifically difficult circumstances.

Great post. I was trying to figure out something negative to say, but could not really come to terms with complaining.

Great Post!! Hope other Skins fans will understand how difficult it may be for the players. Think about it today they played a football game and tommorrow they will bury their teammate and friend. Like i said great post!

Re: Thanks Skins

This is the most upset I have been with a Skins loss since we lost to the Cowboys in the last game of the 79 season. Most of that has to do with the fact that I so wanted them to win today--for so many obvious reasons. But I'm giving the Skins a pass for the rest of the season.

The events of this past week must cause us to have some perspective. About this game. About life.

Thanks Skins for playing tough today under tough circumstances...

Re: Thanks Skins

Very good thread. Our guys have been through so much, it's good to have some positivity. I get pissed and scream and shout during the game, but to have to play to today was, I'm sure, extremely difficult. I know it was a struggle just to take the field.

I can't imagine what it must be like to pull in to the stadium for the game and his parking space is empty, his locker is now enclosed in plexiglass. You put on your jersey and you see a decal with his number on it. You walk out on the field and you see his name up there in the Ring of Honor.

And then you have to go out there and not just play, but you have to win because an entire nation of Redskins fans won't accept anything less. No matter what the circumstances.

I'm glad you made this thread, to remind me that there are still some people with common sense out there.

Re: Thanks Skins

It was one of the best days I have ever been a Redskins fan. I was touched to be with so many in the stadium.

Thanks Redskins!

Very true, Smoot, very true.

I'm blown away at how angry so many "fans" are about losing today. It just demonstrates an utter lack of class, thoughtfulness and perspective.

I couldn't care less about the Skins winning today from the football standpoint, I really wanted them to win for THEM. They lost a teammate and a friend, the pain of which FAR exceeds our pain at losing a hero and a football player.

I really wanted these guys to pull out a win so that they could feel like they really honored Sean. In the end it wasn't meant to be, but it just breaks my heart to those guys crying on the sidelines feeling like they let Sean down.

Smoot gave it everything he had today. I mean everything. That was tough to watch at the end.
