For the record, what Ramsey did as a Redskin and what Campbell has done so far are pretty similar.

There is a lot of evidence though to suggest that Campbell's still got a big breakout in front of him, where as Ramsey is already nearing his prime. If you don't dispute this point, you can't make a sane argument for Ramsey>Campbell.

good points crazyhorse. But we have to move on and hope that JC can get some freedom from Gibbs so he can produce. Its time to take the training wheels off JC.

Through half his first full season, Campbell has lead our team to a winning record....something Ramsey couldn't do for us AND is the bottom line for us. I just hope we're still saying this at the end of the season.

Campbell has better talent then Ramsey ever had here. Lets just stay on the JC bandwagon and hope gibbs give JC the chance to shine.

Ramsey led us within a game of .500 during an 8 game stretch in 2004.

Based on how many other factors go into offense (which only as a total makes up about 3/7ish of the total team) than just the QB, I'd say it's a bit nitpicky to talk about a 1.5 game difference in W/L record.

Hate to bring back Vince Young, but his team is 6-2 and he's been one of the worst QBs in the league thus far this year, and I think it's a great example for a team winning in spite of one player, or a team losing despite the efforts of one player.

I'm not trying to be a Ramsey supporter here, just realistic. What you see is what you get in Pat Ramsey, and it just seems that no one is really sure what exactly they saw in him. Some people are sworn to swear he was the worst QB this team ever saw and others think that with development he would have been the greatest. Reality says that neither of these positions has much basis, and that Ramsey fell about directly in the middle.

Re: Decent Job Ramsey...And Now He Has Taylor Jacobs!

Detroit was ahead 6-0 in a close game when Ramsey came in to replace Cutler in the second quarter.
Final score 44-7, 3 sacks, 1 int for TD, 2 fumbles. Same old Ramsey- holds on to the ball too long, gets sacked to much and gives up a lot of turnovers. while throwing for a lot of yards.
The worst regular season loss in 20 years for Denver.
Enough said.
Ramsey fans should not be proud.

Good: An outstanding 7-13 on third down, a majority of them third and longs.

Bad: Turned the ball over 3 times.

Denver lost worse 3 weeks ago, btw.

Ramsey might be a Rich Gannon. A QB that spends much of his career trying to find himself until he finds the right team and the right situation. But the Redskins just was not the team for him. I feel much better with Jason Campbell than what I did with Patrick Ramsey. Don't get me wrong, I think Pat is probably a great guy and he deserves to find his place in the NFL, but I think it's a moot point in discussing Patrick Ramsey as it is now.

One thing that you can't critique Gibbs for if you know your stuff is how he handled his QB situation since hes been back. He has dealt with 3 QBs since his return, and in pretty much every situation, has always played the guy who was best suited for the job.

He went against the grain twice, but it really paid off for him.

He played in 31 games, but often for only brief appearances. Brunell also had a few quarters off, which I have factored in. I haven't had to make adjustments for Campbell.

The interesting things to me are:

Ramsey's record with the Skins for the first 22 games is similiar to Elway's first 22.

Some people on this site insist that Ramsey was never a first-string calibre quarterback inspite of the fact that his record with the Skins was better than Green's, Gus', Jason's, Tony's, Shane's, Sage's, Mark's, etc.

Ramsey is the top Redskin ground gainer of the 21st century and actually played less than a season and a half.

Skins fan were generally in agreement that Ramsey was the Skins' offense and one of the best risings stars in the league until Gibbs brought in Brunell and Gibbs needed defending.

What followed was the greatest fan distortion of reality I have ever seen in sports. Ramsey had to be trashed so Gibbs could be an infallible God.

Get your generations straight. Hippies came after my generation. I was of the Beat Generation and my lifestyle was Bohemian.

You kids, these days. First, you can't find Canada on a map, and now this!

So did you not count the games where he played only briefly?

The top ground gainer of the 21st century? What???

As for the whole "Ramsey had to be trashed" bull, that's not even worth discussing. It's beyond stupid.
