Re: Shawn Springs quietly having a good season
I noticed that, I thought he must have hit the wrong icon.....? Wheres the one with TWO thumbs UP...? And lets not forget our #1 Corner is playing with a mighty heavy heart!

Re: Shawn Springs quietly having a good season
With everything that's happening with his father and Carlos going down for the year, I'm not sure how "quiet" his very solid season is anymore. Regardless, he's playing great. Not too much throwing to his side of the field. I just worry SO MUCH because he and Smoot are both injury prone. Their health is so important moving forward.

Re: Shawn Springs quietly having a good season
I would love to see us keep Springs & I think what he's been through this year actually increases the chances of him staying. I think Gibbs will go to bat for him. The only thing I worry about is him having another injury that puts him out for weeks.
He wasn't willing to take a pay cut but he might restructure if they give him a good offer. |

Re: Shawn Springs quietly having a good season
I don't think we can afford to not have him on this team. I don't think he is going to command top dollar if we cut him at his age. I do think he will get a nice 3-5 year deal, but not a Clements deal. So i would be in favor of renegotiating his contract if he is willing to do so. I think he would be if we offer a decent deal. Where else are you going to get a top corner for that price? I know we have Smoot and Rogers, but let's face it, they are not #1 corners. Drafting a corner is hit and miss. I think the skins have to work it out if possible.

Re: Shawn Springs quietly having a good season
If our D is solid & we have a winning year (even 9-7) I think they'll do what they can to keep Springs.
