Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread
Kiper says Landry is the best defensive player on the board. I don't necessarily hate the pick, Landry should help in run support and with safety blitzes, but I'm obviously left wondering what they're going to do about the d-line.

You never know, this will work. Its only April. Every Landry hater just relax. He will make plays.

Couldn't trade down.......GOOD MOVE. Nice tandem at safety.

Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread
I don't believe this is a bad pick at all. It would've been nice to have traded down and gotten some more picks, but I think this could work.

Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread
Not that down on Landry--but the inability to trade down disappoints me. Still I look forward to seeing Landry on the field (say around Week 10)...

Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread
Unfortunately, both of our safeties are now rampaging monsters who don't mind being out of position and potentially giving up the big play as long as they make this week's "Jacked Up" highlight reel.
We also now have the dubious distinction of having two of the highest-drafted safeties in NFL history playing on the same squad. |

Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread
I like the pick. Landry looks like a baller and with him and ST we won't get burned on the deep ball. We'll also have solid run support.
Landry was the best fit for the team and someone who will be able to contribute right away.

Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread
Not totally dissapointed in the pick because Landry will be a great addition, however something has to be done to shore up the D-line. Maybe it is their intention to devote the remainder of their attention towards that, and the O-line depth.

Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread
I'm sold on it. The D-Line will be addressed I have faith in the FO. I know that history shows that I shouldn't but recent history has me. They have been very quiet and patient in their dealings this year. My only concern is who is going to line the secondary up ? Taylor, Landry, P.P ?

Re: The Official 2007 Draft Discussion Thread
Well it's good that he can run fast, he's going to have to as opposing QBs are going to continue to have all day to throw to targets deep down field.
