Re: (Merge) Redskins Sign Todd Wade to 2 year deal

I had mentioned in an earlier post that it would be a good idea to consider resigning Wade in hopes he could be moved to the guard position. According to JLC's article in today's WashingtonPost that is the intention. He's a good talent, and if he can convert it will be a positive signing for the team. He's much more talented than a back-up player, and I think the team recognizes it and want to get him into the lineup. Good move!! Someone in the FO must be hearing what we say here.

JLC's article also said that "privately" some defensive players said he was outplaying Jansen. I know Jansen has played his entire career at RT & he's the senior skin, but I see him being a better fit at guard. Maybe they'll let the guys compete for the tackle spot & the loser will play guard? I imagine it will depend on who we bring in to play guard in fa & the draft.

One other thing to add - at least with Dock gone we will not have as many false starts!

As of right now you have to believe Wade is slated to be the starter at LG. Otherwise why would he have re-signed to simply be a backup?

Even if he is just a backup he's still a bargain considering how crazy these contracts have been this offseason.
