You know what grinds my gears? When people say I'm Indian. Are we talking American (native) Indian or Indian from the nation of India?

lets go with when someone calls themselves indian they are from india. First of all because there are 1.1 billion people from india and about 5 native americans left. Next, calling a native american an indian is politically incorrect and not that people don't call them indians but any self respecting native american wouldn't call themselves indian. What should us brown people call ourselves if not indian?

Most asian techies dont really like cricket, cricket is bigger in india and pakistan, and basically all former colonies. And alot of those techies are also fobs, and were not brought up here to be exposed to football. What percentage follow football? The badass bomb-diggity percentage, thats what. Cricket is pretty badass though, Im not gonna lie.

if you read my post i said the INDIANs I had classes with liked cricket, i never said anything about asians liking it.

anyways yeah, a lot of the guys in my classes (since i'm near DC) came from other countries and comp sci isn't even close to 50% white. most of the people in those classes though don't follow football or go to forums based on it though. the ones who do are usually black (and not an african immigrant), hispanic/latino (that grew up here) or white men, and again tend to be more technically inclined.

and by a real poll, i mean like a professional and accurate poll of all DC football fans, which would probably have a much higher female porportion (more casual fans) among other things.

If you're going to rant, at least get the history part right...Columbus thought he was landing in the Indies, or the islands today that consist of Indonesia and the such, not India...

And I too am a white techie, and play fantasy football with several gentlemen of Indian descent who are diehard football fans.

I think it is in the nature of indians to like sports. Also, many of them like football recognizing that it is by far the best sport to watch.

Re: Diversity Of Redskin Fans!?!?!?!?!

Honky here.

IT too.

Damn. I've never felt so ordinary or unexceptional in my entire life.

*Sniff*

Ah! But I'm in mid-thirties with all my hair and almost no grey to speak of. It's even long enough to pull back into a pony tail.

Anyone else got that? Huh? Huh?
