the QB rule isn't really enforceable in any way. I agree with you except on the horse collar (but your team has roy williams, so big surprise there). Its really unsafe and, like chop blocks, ends up with unneeded injuries.

The reason I'm Against it is that I played DE my hole life and sometimes a runner would go past you or a receiver in a screen and the only way you could bring him down and prevent a score it's was by grabing him from behind you're playing catch up with guys that are faster than you.

And this rule got a lot of attention because it produce 3 injury's in 1 year bad luck really last year it didn't get called once and no real injury happend and I know you're going to call the Portis play where he was brought down from the back and had to sit for a few plays, man players get banged up each week what about the concussion Alexander faced against you guys that it completly took him out of the game.

You see freaky injuries all the time it's part of the game you can't prevent it players fall occuard and brake a leg or hand it happends all the time, did you see anything wrong in the play Carson Palmer gut hurth I didn't and stil are thinking on putting a rule to prevent it YOU CAN'T, and every time you put more rules on how the game is played and how they can tackle it takes fun away from the game.

We love R. Williams and Sean Taylor Highlights seeing does hits and bringing down the pain wel levery time we make them more conciuos on how they have to bring down a player it take away their instinc tha tmakes them great.

All thsi rule sometimes are so dull it upsets at least me or don't you get upset when you see a flag for personal foul against the QB for hands in the face where you barelly see a DL touch a qb in the face and him making so much drama like a kicker and it cost you 15 yards, it's ridiculous.

A player can just as easily go for the legs rather than reaching for a collar, that's my main problem with the horse collar.

Wrenching a player backward against their own momentum is just a dangerous tackle.

Get rid of it.

Mike O'Hara, of the Detroit News, reports local television affiliates were removed from the sidelines under a policy adopted Tuesday, March 28, by the NFL owners. They no longer will be allowed on the sidelines during games, which prevents them from shooting footage to show on news and highlight shows.

this would be bad for local fans :/

The Associated Press reports NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue said the league is considering playing a preseason game in Beijing, China for 2007. "I think the chances are increasing," said Tagliabue. "We've had many discussions on that and our international people have been to China."

the broncos owner has already volunteered unilaterally to any foreign game. If he'll accept losing a home game for it (preseason or otherwise), then it looks like it'll actually happen.

Mark Curnutte, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports NFL teams voted Wednesday, March 29, to adopt several rules changes, including restrictions on touchdown celebrations and to protect quarterbacks to low hits. The teams voted to approve a rule to disallow touchdown celebrations by using the ground, ball or any other artificial props in the celebration. Officials will also be allowed to call a penalty if a defensive player can avoid a low hit on a quarterback, but does not so. New rules also included reviews on instant replays have been cut from 90 seconds to 60 seconds, as well as a rule to protect long snappers from injury on extra points and field goals. Proposals to allow wide receivers to flinch with penalty and equip one defensive player's helmet with an electronic communicator were not approved.

John McClain, of the Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Texans general manager Charley Casserly is emerging as a candidate to replace Art Shell as the NFL's senior vice president of football operations and development. Casserly is under contract to the Texans through June 2007. The position may not be filled until a replacement for NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue is hired. Casserly declined to comment on the position or his possible interest in the job. "I'm under contract, and my total efforts are geared to free agency and the draft and will continue to be," Casserly said.

Bob Brookover, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, reports the NFL vote was 25-7 in favor of expanding the horse-collar rule that was approved last year after Dallas Cowboys S Roy Williams broke the leg of Philadelphia Eagles WR Terrell Owens with that style of tackle. Only two horse-collar penalties were called last season, when the rule prevented defensive players from pulling down offensive players by grabbing the back of their shoulder pads. Now, it is penalty just to grab the back of a jersey on a horse-collar tackle.

That suggestion was rejected by the owners last year, but approved by a 27-5 vote Wednesday, March 29. Mike Pereira, the vice president of officials, said 12 plays would have been overturned last season under the new rule. If the ruling is changed by replay, the ball belongs to the recovering team at the spot of the recovery.

Steve Wyche, of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue said there is momentum for regular season games or the Pro Bowl to be on international soil in the near future. There is already the possibility for a game to be played in China in early August of 2007.

The Associated Press reports the first cutdown in training camp this summer will be to 75 players rather than 65. In the past, teams were allowed to keep 65 plus anyone who played in NFL Europe for the cut after the third preseason game. Now, there are more options for head coaches.
