Re: Endzone Celebrations
I don't like the fact that the NFL continues to take the fun out of playing football. I think that and endzone celebration is fine, whether it be a group effort, single or whatever. I like them, sometimes they stink but those are som of the things that make football fun to watch. I like to see a guy happy that he scored, not all stoic and serious all of the time. I miss the fun bunch celebration, that type of thing should be a Redskin tradition. It can't be though because of this crap. I can see if your dancing over a guy you just trucked but jeez, can these guys take the stick out of their arses and enjoy the game. That's just my opinion on the matter. The NFL rules the sports world but they are making the game too serious to me.

Re: Endzone Celebrations
I like the celebrations--I think they add to the excitement of the game. Also, this is what the palyers want to do. WHy shouldn't they decide, the guys who actually play the game, rather than some suits in a room?
Come on! Portis giving CPR to the football? Terry Orr mocking Deon's "2 Legit" dance with Hammer on the sideline at RFK? Why not have these things as part of the game? If players don't like it, they can score and celebrate in revenge, or they can get mean on D and smash the offender into the ground. It hypes players up. What I don't like is wild celebrations after totally ORDINARY plays, like a CB prnacing around after defending a pass. That's too much. BUt TD celebrations are part of the game. NFL=No fun league...

Re: Endzone Celebrations
Kinda of a contradiction by the nfl. Football is the ultimate team sport, celebrations should be done as a team.
I would like to see the nfl ban celebrations after non touchdown plays. Im tired of seeing 300lb men dance after stuffing a run for a 1 yard loss. |

Re: Endzone Celebrations
I'm kind of split on this topic. I like seeing some of the celebrations - tds, making a big play (esp. at a critical point in the game), etc. I personally think it's a judgment thing. I like funny celebrations and the ones that the players get into when they are intensely feeling it. I personally dislike some that don't amuse or inspire me or some that take it too far as far as choreography and such, but I wouldn't ban them just because of my own personal taste. The ones that should be banned is when a player deliberately taunts an opposing player or team, you know the ones that might cause fights. It should be in the referees' discretion, but we can't even trust referees to officiate the coin toss before the beginning of the game let alone do this. I think that's what the real problem is.
