Fox: Labor peace good for fans, rich teams

Labor peace good for fans, rich teams

We have seen the phony pictures and heard the stories of how Paul Tagliabue and Gene Upshaw are in bed together when it comes to making labor deals, but so what?

Having labor peace until 2012 is great for everyone who loves pro football, especially the fans who won't have to read about it for six more years, while giving their full concentration to their fantasy-league team.

But this new deal was also very good for the super-rich NFL teams like Washington, New England and Houston. These franchises will be approaching the $300 million annual revenue club in a few years, if not sooner, and their so-called luxury tax for the honor is a measly $3 million a year to the new revenue-sharing pie. Not a bad deal for Daniel Snyder, Bob Kraft and Bob McNair, respectively.
