You really can’t judge Howell, our wr’s, our backs or EB with this train wreck oline. They allow for absolutely nothing to develop. It is priority number one.

Our entire defense outside of Payne is priority number 2.

I bet McLaurin takes them off again next season.
I agree. I was looking at Terry’s scores in RTM in getting open he had one very successful year 2019. Every other year his score is average and about the same. He is actually scoring higher this year than in 2021. We just view him as not getting open but he hasn’t since RR took over.

It's EB's job to help get him open. Put him in motion more. Line him up in different spots.

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

Look at the analytics he has never really gotten open except when Jay was here. Where Terry excels is in his catch rate. Where he is really struggling this year is YAC that is on EBs scheme for sure

EB needs to try to save his job… I’m not so sure Sam Hamster starts next week. You heard it from me first!

A interesting nugget from Twitter:

Sam Howell is now on pace for 5,044 total yards and 30 touchdowns (and 18 INTs). Also while having a 66.7 comp%
Tell me more about this lack of any accuracy.

This is what great OCs do. They adjust their scheme/plays to the people they have to work with. He should know that there isn't Travis Kelce or Tyreek Hill on the Commanders. We don't have that explosive speed guy that his offense needs.

Which is mind-boggling because Dotson was supposed to be that guy. Small, skinny D-Jax type. I remember when we drafted him and all we heard was how he carries the ball around everywhere so he never drops passes.

That's a WAYYYYYY Better season than any of us ever imagined Sam having. I'll be the first to admit, I never thought he'd be a QB1. Now he has proven that he can be. Tony Romo said it as well, no need to go draft a QB now unless the new HC wants Caleb Williams or Maye.

On one series Sam got teh snap and literally got hit right away due to Leno's sorry ass. He's sooo bad

The analytics remove all variables other than the receiver themselves. I am not sure what it is but something is going on with Terry. Not excusing EB’s play calling it has been awful but his YAC score is way down from previous seasons

Wonder if that turf toe injury is lingering from preseason.

Re: The Sam Howell Thread

If McLaurin was going to have a down year, then this is the year to have it. This was always going to be a throw-away season. Might as well just sit him for the rest of the season if he's bothered at all by it.

He'll end up with at least 920 yards at the rate he's going.....not bad at all.....he still makes plays and he still scares defenses.

I am not going to dwell too much on Sam's future here. If there is a new FO this off season and they decide to draft a QB I am certain we could trade Sam for 2nd, maybe even a 1st the way he is playing. Either way it is a win.

If they draft one of those guys it better become a camp battle. You can trade one of them next year. Do not get rid of Sam and go with an unknown.
