One change that took place this year (I believe) is that Burns took over the majority of the play calling and as the season has progressed I'd say it ahs gotten better and better. Anyone know what the play calling structure was last year versus this year?

I believe Breaux is the offensive coordinator.

I still wish we would impliment the quick draw into the game plan, I believe this would really utilize Portis's running abilities, as well as help slow down the pass rush with the fake.

I wonder if Portis ran it at all in Denver?

I know he's said he's more comfortable running out of a single back set, so perhaps he's just not comfortable/familiar with the draw?

Well, you can see that last year without him our passing game was definitely worse than it is this year. This change can be attributed to a number of factors I guess, but I am sure Musgrave had to have some impact on how brunell has progressed.

Not only did Musgrave pursuade Gibbs to use the shot gun, again, but just think about the work load that Musgrave took off of Gibbs by being devoted to the QB's. I am sure that Gibbs asked Musgrave for imput, I mean how could he not. But by bringing Musgrave in to take care of the QB's that gives Gibbs more devoted time to game planning and he is not trying to help the QB's develope, where as that is Musgrave's job. I think that it was a smart move for Gibbs to do this, not only does it bring in "New Blood" with an offense perspective, but it takes some of the work load off of Gibbs...

Do you really think it's a coincedence that Brunell had great success at Jacksonville with Musgrave as QB coach, and then turns around his play this year with Musgrave back in his corner?? Also, watch when either Brunell or Ramsey come off of the field after a pick, TD, 4th down, time out, etc: They go right to Musgrave on the sideline to discuss the play. To measure "how much of an impact" he has had is impossible but I don't believe in "coincedences".

I believe he did, Shanahan runs the west coast offense and the draw play is a big part of that. But I know the stretch play is Denver's bread and butter, so probably not as much as in other west coast systems, but I do think it would be very condusive to his running style.

I also believe that it was a draw play that Portis scored on on opening day last season against the Buc's, and Portis was quoted as saying that Gibbs never ran that play again the rest of the year, Gibbs was asked about that statement and denied it and laughed it off basically saying Portis really doesn't know what he's talking about in a joking manor, so who know's?

That opening TD run Portis had was a counter but CP cut it back to the right side instead of following the blocks to the left.
