Hamden Update

DW is a class act, I'll always wish him the best.

Put his head on a 6-3, 230 LB frame with a rocket arm and he would have been a star.

I agree that Hamden is raw. Can he be practice squaded again? Has he had any access to the current coaching staff? I'd like to see him at least get some snaps at training camp under the eye of Gibbs and co. Whatever they decide, I'll take their word for it..

When has Gibb's opted for a veteran 3rd string QB? schroeder, humphries, rypien, conklin, he has alway's used the 3rd spot to develope a young QB, he just wanted a veteran at the #2 spot, Sthoener an ex- NFL starter, Hamden is head and shoulder's better than him, as well Hamden is the only guy moving the ball, every time he put's together a drive he get's benched, I think they have some kind of agreement with the NFL to get everyone playing time, as for his stat's, don't really care, I have never been a stat guy, I have seen him play twice now, and have yet to see him throw 1 bad pass, the kid is a cool customer on the field, and is showing a lot of potential, just the kind of guy Gibb's will look to develope, it can also be looked at this way, who will bring back more in a trade 2 or 3 year's from now? Hasselbach or Hamden? I say Hamden is the guy with a real chance to bring back some pick's for us.

just for kicks let's put it to a vote, who's your #3 QB for 2004?

I'd say our #3 will be Hasselbeck, with Hamdan on the practice squad for another year while learning from a real NFL coaching staff. In 2005, it will be interesting, depending on what kind of impression they both make on the coaches this year.

Hasselbeck should be our #3 next year hands down. Hamden may have looked good against all the other fourth and fifth stringers in the NFL, but Hasselbeck, while not looking amazing, still held his own in there against the #1's in the league last year.

Still, though, I dont want to see Hamden get cut either. Is it possible for him to be on the practice squad again this season. I think he could be a nice project for Gibbs & Co. However, though I'd have to take Hasslebeck for the time being. If GiBran looks good in preseason, then maybe I'll have to look at it harder.
