Absolutely no bs. I am older, family, etc etc but up until a few years ago an L definitely pissed me off for days. My wife would see me after the game and be like “oh great they lost again “ because id be visibly pissed off. A win made Monday mornings like Christmas day. Now, before the game is over Im completely over it. Even after a win, Im over it. I like venting in the gameday thread cus it’s hysterical. SD, Rave - some good stuff going on in there. But trust me H I dont think about a win or a loss for one minute after the game is over. |

Re: Dallas L postgame
From Keim:
On Sunday, Washington ran the ball when Wentz was under center on 18 of 20 snaps. They did average 5.2 yards on those runs; very good. But the one pass completion lost one yard. Passed the ball on 41 of 50 times when in shotgun. 4.17 per attempt. IMO this is a problem. The lack of variety here telegraphs to the defense what is coming. I am not a big advocate of running out of shot gun due to lack of acceleration at the handoff, but something needs to be done to make passing/running less noticeable. I also think ST needs to work with CW to step into the "pocket" instead of back peddaling. This will enhance his views of open targets. While I do question whether the o-line can hold a pocket completely they weren't the biggest problem with the offense against Dallas (minus when Leno and Norwell decided to block each other)

Wentz is showing happy feet in the pocket, taking these mini steps ... I thought his pocket presence was one of his strengths. Just give me those quick hit 3-5 step drop plays, back foot plants = ball comes out. Slants to Terry, double crosses ... easy pitch and catch plays. Feed Terry early. |

Re: Dallas L postgame
If you can't step up into the pocket, you can't have success in the NFL. But easier said than done with our guard play and Chase being injured. But what Wentz is doing now is not working. Rather take sacks in the pocket than dropping backwards. That way you lose 5 yards or less. He's taking sacks and intentional groundings that absolutely ruin drives. At this point tho, I don't think it's fixable. He isn't some inexperienced player.
Our offensive line needs a complete overhaul. 3 or 4 new starters. Definitely 2 new guards.

We went into Dallas with the no. 1 goal of not getting sacked 9 times. We accomplished that .. for the most part. How much did winning the "limit sacks" battle cost us the war? Who knows. Im not giving up hope. Really thought we could bounce back vs a Cooper Rush offense, with a few games film to prep with. Deflated after this cowboys loss. |

Re: Dallas L postgame
Scott Turner did a press conf yesterday .. I caught bits of it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9vB6HaZBy8 Running 18 out of 20 under center formations -- not worried about in game tendencies, run was working 5.3 yds per carry .... need to improve PA .. they look at tendencies week to week but not worried about in one game Carson changing plays at LOS -- there wasnt a lot, we try to get up to the line and go quickly Try to help O line - tried to get ball out quick, run ball, help certain guys Charles - brings some athleticism, see him on screens, can play guard or tackle, anticipates he will play well, thought he did a good job when he got in there |

Re: Dallas L postgame
The only time you don't worry about in-game tendencies is if your talent is clearly better than your opponents. Such is not the case with this team, especially this offensive line, on any given Sunday.

Re: Dallas L postgame
We can probably beat the Titans by simply passing every single time out of under-center formations and running every time out of shotgun. Just completely do the reverse.

Side note: I continued to listen to Thursday's podcast and Kevin and Thom are talking about a fan survey of 1,000 ticket holders in which Dan had a 5% positivity rating and Bruce was at 6% and the news out of Ashburn was they were both shocked they were so ill-liked. I was listening and I thought who are these 50-60 idiots that view Dan or Buce positively?!
