Did it say the stadium will hold 60'000, maybe just me but isn't that kinda small?

Re: The stadium thread 2: New stadium boogaloo
No it wouldn't. I was referring to the shift of building stadiums back inside city limits. Heinz field, M&T etc versus suburban dumps like Fed ex, meadowlands, Foxboro

Re: The stadium thread 2: New stadium boogaloo
Why can't they just go back to DC?

Re: The stadium thread 2: New stadium boogaloo
There aren't many sites in DC that can handle a stadium and the most obvious site is the old RFK site but that's on Federal land that would require Congressional approval. With them investigating DS it seems unlikely they'd approve anything for this organization.

Change in ownership would make DC a possible. Especially, if the Amazon guy buys it.

Yeah Loudoun County has the advantage of having Metro access now but it's still a hike from DC too - and I'd bet good money by the time this stadium opens (let's remember it's not a done deal - I think Dan made this move to put pressure on MD to make a better offer) there will be more commute options than 95. They are expanding the rail lines and by 2027 VRE will be running weekends so you'll have the option to take Amtrak or VRE down to Woodbridge, then run dedicated buses between the stadium and the nearest station.

I'd like the stadium to be in DC too but it doesn't seem realistic with their footprint of what they want to build around the stadium.

Anita's is everywhere - they have like 8 locations now. They've cornered the "you need a hot burrito when your shift starts at 5:30" market.

Small stadium would be a good thing.. They don't need 40K eagles fans there anymore

Re: The stadium thread 2: New stadium boogaloo
If Dan Snyder hadn't been running a shitty product for two decades. He lost the battle for the northern suburbs and that is on him not the politicians of DC. If you live in Bethesda are you driving the 20 miles to Fed Ex or the 36 to M&T? Annapolis? Fredneck? I am not going to invest public dollars into infrastructure that won't return value if I am a politician, political games aside.

Re: The stadium thread 2: New stadium boogaloo
I've been to the Titans stadium a few times and it's max capacity is like 68k, it doesn't seem small when you're there and has a cool vibe to it. I think the days of who has the biggest stadiums are over. Build one that you have the chance to fill to capacity every week...and that will probably still be a challenge for them if Dan is still here.
