Ben Standig
@BenStandig T.Y. Hilton on NFLN talking Wentz: "I loved him. ... was a leader for us. He stepped up big in the games we needed him. There were some games, you know, it wasn't good... I felt like he did a pretty good job under the circumstances. ... Whenever he got his chance, he made plays." |

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
Hes super religious. Which is totally cool but Id imagine he tends to flock together with the religious outdoors men type of players and not the drinking/strippers type players.
Only time I ever heard religion was a problem in the locker room was with Coach Zorn. Winning = everything is great |

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
Yes that is true, but the rumours being spread about Wentz were that he was bad in the lockerroom and these comments from teammates help to disprove that narrative

I keep coming back to it but folks got watch Hard Knocks Colts. The last four games the Colts were 2-2, they were destroyed by COVID in the majority of the games, literally playing with make shift O line play plus the center Kelly dealing with a lost of a child. Carson was a game manager in the Pats win they went JT heavy, Carson was a major reason they won at ARZ on Xmas, he tied up the Raiders it was the D that couldn't hold LV at the end and he had a sub par game against JAX but Colts D shit the bed too. Honestly looking at all that and his yearly totals, CW was not the Colts problem their problem was COVID. I guess it's Irsay who made this decision but IMO it was knee jerk reaction. Maybe on a 1-1 level he just didn't like CW, it happens. In the end we shall see but considering all variables Wentz is/was the best the Commanders were ever going to do at QB at least for this off season.

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
Yeah the Sproles thing was pretty bad. Alshawn Jeffrey didn't really care too much for him, neither did Duece Staley. Sounds like Wentz was pouting a bit because the players seemed to like Foles better. And also was being babied by Peterson. Perhaps it was all a learning experience for him. No more excuses for him at this point. This is probably his last chance at being a full time starter.

Re: Welcome Carson Wentz
Yep. That was Bobby B at his best. And that is why I always say draft QB's. As bad as Jay was in spots, he was also good enough to win a couple play off games and got us to an NFC Championship. He still had value when his time was up in DC.

And you like to see more of that from CW(QB1) but also to be fair i don't believe he is a locker room cancer. You know who is pretty good at QB1 but isn't necessarily the leader or a leader on his team? Lamar Jackson, he is not even a Captain for the Ravens. He maybe in the history of league MVPs the only one who was/is not a Captain. My point is you don't have to be the alpha leader of your team to be a effective QB1.
