Re: Post Draft Free agency targets

Ok... I have NO idea why the Miami basically gave us Ereck Flowers...
Granted it's one game, but I watched offensive snaps of last year's Rams @ Dolphins...
Flowers played really REALLY well against a very good DL.
He held his own 1 on 1 against Aaron freakin Donald. He got driven back and beaten a couple of times... but it's Donald... and he never got humiliated, not one "oh my gosh Donald is a monster, nothing you can do against him" play.

We got great value in this trade.

Some worth seeing plays:

He had a lot of these in the game in the run game, giving help to either the C or T and then looking for a second guy to block, very pro active:

Look at him maintain his block and then perfectly pick up the stunt:

Another nice job against a stunt:

1 on 1 in pass pro vs Donald, Tua doesn't step up in the pocket but Flowers did his job there, didn't he ?

Gets tackle help at the end but nice play against Donald:

That is kind of a significant error.

Charles Leno wanted to be in Washington partly because of how competitive we were last year. I think the perception of this team amongst players around the league is changing, and it'll start to benefit us:

They were in cap hell, and while he is a good player, he underplayed his contract in Miami. They overpaid big time in FA. Case study in risk of FA signings, fact they excel in one system one place doesn't mean will next, tons of variables, and when you overpay a player at low leverage position and then he underperforms. . .

Something to perhaps consider when we have good players we KNOW are exceling here like Allen that we can resign.

I think every Redskins fan likes the signing. High upside, little long term risk.
Thanks for the film. Good stuff.

It is better. Then you have stories of THE DAN trying to shaft Allen, his butt boy, out of pay, as he did the dividends of ex-owners. Long as THE DAN is here, only going to get so good. You think THE DAN wouldn't try the same to RR if we aren't winning in three years? You can only go so far when your owner is human excrement.

Right now we are simply competent. Huge improvement over where we were, and hopefully it continues, but Leno is also not some world beater. The question is how long until THE DAN reverts to his statistical mean historical behavior? Any smart player and agent will ask that, and it will still keep many players away, just a risk that can be avoided.

This is a big statement and evidence of the culture changing. Great to see

Yeah it is nice, but the team was still 7-9. We were obviously extremely fortunate to play in the NFC least, and for Dak to get hurt.
Culture is great, wins are better. To have both would be awesome. We will see.

Well the difference in the team between 2019 and 2020 couldn’t be more obvious. The wins will come as we add talent.

The team is trending in the right direction. That's all we can ask for and for it to be happening so quickly is a pretty impressive job by Ron and company.

The Cowboys were literally one onside kick from being 0-4 with Dak, so this notion that Dak is gonna come back and they immediately because a top 3 team in the conference is nonsense to me

Shameless self-promotion. It is what it is.
