Re: Gibbs vs. Spurrier -- stats about even?
lewis was mad he didn't get our HC job (which he should have gotten btw), and he didn't make any bones about wanting to be a HC no matter what and as soon as possible.

Re: Gibbs vs. Spurrier -- stats about even?
Is there a stat for lockerroom? Seems Spurrier had lost controll of his team internally. Allowing the players to dictate the mood in the locker room. Gibbs is the boss and what he says goes. We are so much more competative with Gibbs. Is this really a question that needs to be asked? If you ask it maybe you should just go cheer for the gamecocks or how about the cowgurls.

Re: Gibbs vs. Spurrier -- stats about even?
What it all boils down to is this: When Steve Spurrier comes back to the NFL and wins at least 2 Super Bowls, let alone with different quarterbacks and running backs, then I'll agree that it would be somewhat feasible to compare Spurrier to Gibbs. Until then, I can't see the logic in such a comparision.

Re: Gibbs vs. Spurrier -- stats about even?
Not to but this is Gibbs second season of his second term with the skins and in his second season he has already improved this team by atleast 2 wins. In Spurriers second season, I dont believe that there was improvement but rather a regression. Going from 7-9 to 5-11. Just a thought for those that think that Gibbs vs. Spurrier and stats being even...

Re: Gibbs vs. Spurrier -- stats about even?
I have read all of the replies, but back to the orginal question, I feel that even though some of the stats maybe the same, Gibbs a following, much bigger than Spurrier. Gibbs has a aura around him, that is analogous to a divine being. We think he is amazing and we have seen what he has done in the past with the Redskins. I feel that the players and the fans have greater trust and belief in Gibbs than they ever did with Spurrier. It is that extra boost which gives Gibbs the edge, and the success he his having.

GIBBS=COWBOY SWEEP! First in 10 years. In contention for the division, or wildcard. How does that ..............Factor into the stats? Time to close another thread, and move on

Beemnseven! I'm surprised! I think I spotted the biggest problem in this thread! The local plotonline is a day late in their stories, and has numerous errors! More so than any newspaper I look at.

Re: Gibbs vs. Spurrier -- stats about even?
to me the problem with this team lies with dan synder himself.he wants the quick fix lets get it done now and at any cost, well it hasn,t quite worked out as of yet but hiring joe gibbs back as head coach is a start but being a little patient will help also.so synder needs to do whatever it takes to help joe gibbs get what he needs while taken a backseat in personnel matters.patience is vital when it comes to success in anything.
it takes time and time is short with dan synder.
