Prioleau.

Did anyone notice him on the sideline after he was burnt?
I'm hoping he was trying to figure out where he messed up, but it really looked like he was busy blaming other people for his mistake. If he was blaming others I say can him, cause he sure didn't help yesterday. Why didn't Bowen see more action? Swear he'd make less mistakes than Prioleau. :frusty:

Re: Prioleau.

I am not sure that he was blaming others, but rather stating that the coverage broke down. If you look at that play for some reason Springs stayed up and played as a LB. Springs and I think it was Harris just kinda stood there. I remember the annoucer say something like, "Galloway put a move on the corner, and went right by him." But Springs never even tried it seemed. And I think that Prioleau was upset because we had the wrong d play called or something more along those lines, or maybe Springs bit to hard on the play-fake...

Re: Prioleau.

It looked like a missed assignment somewhere, Springs let his man go and Prioleau was out of position. I'm not sure who blew it, but from the reaction from Prioleau it appears Springs may have blown the assignment.

Re: Prioleau.

Prioleau tried to check out of the coverage on that play, and it either came too late or Springs didn't acknowledge and/or hear it.

Re: Prioleau.

Sean Taylor being out really hurt our D. No way does Tampa complete all those down field passes if he is in. They may have had one maybe two, but no way do they get that one at the end of the game. Did anyone see how Prioleau attacked the line of scrimmage instead of taking the deep route. Did he think Tampa was going to run? He single handely accounted for 2 TDs maybe more. He was always 3 or 4 steps behind. Is he that stupid, you never let someone get passed you that late in the game. Walt harris played awful as well, but to his aid, I believe he thought he had some help over the top. Why wouldn't he have. Also, I would like to point out that our D is not getting pressure on the QB. We blitzed 8 guys on that last TD. Why I dont know, but I dont agree with that call, especially when you are sending Springs as one of your rushers. Harris and Prioleau had been getting beat all day, Rogers too, and you send your best cover CB on a blitz. Not sure about that call.

Re: Prioleau.

Everytime we blitzed we did not get to him and they went over the top, most of our secondary do not have shut down or one on one capability to support the blitzes if we do not get to them. They made big play after big play when we blitzed besides the three TD's.

I have to agree. What's funny is the defense finally played the run halfway decent, and the secondary fell apart. And all of our corners were playing today. The only piece missing was Taylor. It would seem that he's the glue that holds the secondary together. Sean Taylor is a beast, but I never would have thought that was the case. I don't know how else to explain the breakdown of one of the better pass defenses in the league. They played fine with starting corners out, but they apparently can't make up for missing Taylors presence. I was seriously getting pissed watching the 9th overall pick and Walt Harris getting torched by a #3 wideout.

Re: Prioleau.

To me it seemed like Prioleau was playing closer to line of scrimmage the whole time. When we got burned on the long pass plays Prioleau was always behind chasing the runner.

The coverage was terrible throughout the whole game. You can't place the blame on one player.

On that note.....I think Harris SUCKS!

Taylor is so fast that he covers ALOT of ground. Rarely are you going to see a guy get passed him if he is the over the top help. Plus those plays where Prioleau was late, would have probably been broken up. The plays across the middle would not have been made either. Marshall was beat bad on two plays with the TE that set up scores. Taylor probably would have laid his a$$ out!! Every player on this D is to blame. DT, DE, LBS, CB, FS and SS. LaVar leaped at the end, where I thought he should have stayed low, no pressure from out ends, or DT. Although Big Joe had some nice plays. Marcus jumped off sides which gave TB a free 1st down. every person on this Defense accounted for the loss, even good ole Greg Williams, with the horrible blitz call at the end.

Re: Prioleau.

I really felt like every time we got burned Prioleau was somewhere around the play (but clearly not close enough to stop anything...). I think Tampa noticed this and picked on him a lot throughout the game. I knew we would miss Taylor, but I never thought THIS badly...

You are making a big assumption that it was Prioleau that was burnt. Sometimes that first player that makes the tackle or arrives late to a play is not always the player responsible for the coverage on that play.

I know on one of the other long completion by Galloway, it was on Bowen's side of the field. Prioleau came accross the field and made the TD saving tackle and Bowen came trailing the play, but would never have caught Galloway.

I am not sure why you think Bowen would have done a better job? Bowen's major weakness is coverage, which is why Gregg Williams did not play him exclusively at FS. Bowen is not the answer and Williams obviously thinks so as well because Williams continues to take Bowen out on obvious pass play.

Re: Prioleau.

prioleau was jogging after galloway when he made that catch on the overthrown ball that could have been a TD if it was a good pass...he just want putting 100% into the game the whole time. leave him to play special teams
