They may as well start their youngsters. Seems like a rebuilding year anyway.

No way. He had Portis and mcGahee as his two running backs, both obvioulsy great. But Frank Gore was better than both of them. Gore just has had two knee injuries, but had more natural ability than both of them. And thats saying a lot. Dorsey had great talent around him, but so did brock berlin. Dorsey might never play in the NFL but he was the heart and sole of that team. He made the come back drives when we needed them. But yea, there was so much talent on those teams that it was hard not to lose.

anyone else watching around the horn when they were talking about this. I nearly :vomit-smi when they said it was completely torn off the bone. i don't know about u guys, but if something like that happened to me, the last thing i'd be worried about would be playing football again in a few monthes. even though i share the sentiments of several other warpath members in their hatred for the 49ers, Rattay has some big time sympathy from me.

Kordell is a good choice for them, but only because of cap issues. Kordell should be cheap, and Collins and even Warner, who would be better for the team, will be too expensive.

I hope they get Kordell, because then I think Dorsey will get to start. Kordell is a bum, all he does is throw picks. He used to be athletic, but never had the presence in teh pocket to make the right decision. He had a great year and some decent years, but is way to inconsistent. The 49ers should try to build a QB, they are obvioulsy not going to be an elite team next year.

Kordell is inconsistant, but I think he took a lot of shit last year that didn't need to be taken. He made some good throws but I'd watch his receivers just drop it. I think he could seriously be a talented QB in this league. He's a whole lot better than Dorsey =p

1. I don't know if this line is original with John Riggins but that is where I heard it first:
Minor groin surgery = groin surgery they do to somebody else. 2. Kordell Stewart is now and always will be a mediocre QB. Ken Dorsey is now an unknown quantity because he has not yet played in the NFL, but it will tell you a whole lot about him and his future if he can't beat out someone like Stewart on the depth chart. My opinion is that Dorsey is useless as an NFL QB because he does not have the minimum arm strength needed to do the job. But until he plays a while and stinks on the field, that is merely an opinion. 3. If multiple teams are ainterested in Collins, the Niners may not be able to afford him in their "cap-strapped state". It is unlikely that Stewart will be in the middle of an intense bidding war for his QB services. |

Stewart should have converted to WR when he had the chance. He could have been a damn good WR instead of a mediocre QB.
