Brunell is a proven veteran and that's what is really showing through. He's decisive and he gets the ball out quickly, something that Ramsey has always had problems with.

Ramsey was still looking very shakey all through the preseason while Brunell seemed to have a much better command of the offense.

Plus there's the aspect of his mobility, when the pocket breaks down MB can roll out and make things happen by scrambling or tossing on the run, that simply wouldn't be happening with Ramsey.

It's true that we really don't know what Ramsey could have done, but I think it's a fair assumption that he wouldn't be doing what Brunell is doing.
those are good points,I dont have blind loyalty to Ramsey,I just think he deserved the same chance Brunell got,we have invested a lot of time and effort in ramsey and he desrved better than 2 qtrs, people on the board say we shouldnt question gibbs,he knows what he's doing, look how its turned out, where are the naysayers now? this is 12th mans post:
"I too was and still am a Ramsey supporter, but not at the expense of winning.

I think it's pretty evident that Ramsey had a fair shot at leading this team, and why should Gibbs have waited for Ramsey to stink up the joint before putting in Brunell? Who's benefitting from that?"

Wasnt it evident last yr Brunell had his fair shot? Did Gibbs not wait way,way too long for Brunell to stink up the joint at the expense of winning? I s there really 1 person on this board who thinks that Gibbs made the right descision on sticking with brunell that long last yr? So I have good reason to question this descision, the truth is we wont really know how good or bad a descision it was till the season is over and we see what happens,in the meantime,I'm ecstatic that brunells doing good,I dont want him to suck to prove a point,I want the redskins to win,but till all is said and done I shouldnt be questioned for questioning Gibbs when his moves have been questionable, but in the end i just want whats best for the team, and I'm really hoping Gibbs was right and everything works out,Brunell leads us to a Superbowl win,we trade Ramsey in the offseason for a #1 pick,Brunell retires and Campbell becomes a superstar!!

Re: Brunell Starting

I think people have man crushes on Ramsey this isn't flag football where everyone gets equal playing time. Gibbs made a call and its over we're doing okay so lets not complain. Ramsey's not complaining he knows hes being outplayed right now.

Re: Brunell Starting

I think the majority of the skins (and non-skins) fans agree that Brunell at qb was obviously the right decision. For those who disagree - the question would be - do you think that Ramsey would be playing considerably better than Brunell (and not just as good as Brunell) ? I personally would assume that the answer would be an emphatic no - based on last year's play and preseason play.

Ramsey may still get his chance one day, but I don't think he is ready right now. It will be up to him to improve and show that he has the ability to win games instead of not trying to lose. And with gibbs' questionable decisions - they really haven't been and won't be questionable in the end, like the Brunell trade. Gibbs, in spite of his reputation, doesn't really seem to be a conservative coach. He is a coach that makes decisions that he thinks is right and it happens to be different from what a regular coach would make. That's what separates him from a safe coach that is scared to lose a game and his job. He does care about the fans' and media perception, but not an the expense of the team and winning. That's the bottomline - the performance of the team and winning - as long as those are good, everything is gold ( and burgundy).

And I think those disgruntled fans (and I did say disgruntled) - I think you guys are gonna come around - you guys are still worried and anxious about being disappointed again because it's been that way for a long time ... until this season.
