Fantasy Football 2016
What's up fantasy football junkies....Its time.
Time to get the entry fees together, get the leagues re-opened, player rankings together, resources together, etc. So who are you drafting? Who are your sleepers? Who is your busts? The Redskins are fantasy relevant again...Jordan Reed, DJax, Matt Jones, Cousins....anybody you going after? Do lie you homer! My pay league is a little uncertain this year, we've talked but no commitment because several of our guys are only doing Weekly league with kings or duel...that's some weak shit imo. Players in my cross hairs this year: QB...zero focus, too deep...Cousins, Carr, Famous Jameis, Eli and Brady are the arms at looking at right now you could be taken at good value. RB...Im probably looking to take one in the first two rounds but I really like Miller in Texas. Im also looking later for a Jeremy Hill, Langford, Latavius Murray. Matt Jones and Melvin Gordon I think could be taken later for great value. WR...We are stacked at WR this year. Dez and AJ Green could be taken for great value. Mike Evans and Brandin Cooks could be the next guys who could breakin into top 5 WR in the league. Keenan Allen is gonna have a good year. Sleepers....TE: Jordan Cameron and Zach Miller....WR: Stefon Diggs and Chris Hogan once brady is back RB: Duke Johnson and a lot of rookies. Who you got?

Re: Fantasy Football 2016
Time to start making my tier rankings. Not talking targets since the only leagues I play are with fellow WP'ers.
What will be interesting to see in the drafts is: (1) The effect of suspended players like Bell, Gordon and Brady on draft position. - Hard to make your number one pick a guy who is unavailable for enough games to make a difference as to whether you get into the playoffs. He'll be great in the later season, but is that enough? Gordon has even bigger questions. (2) Round 1 WR's - Three or four years ago, and w/ one or two exceptions, the general rule was you picked a RB in round 1 because you need them and the good ones go fast. In the last few years, RB's at the top have been volatile and it seems like it is the exception, rather than the rule, that last year's top RB's will be this year's top RB's. On top of that, even in non-PPR leagues, the NFL has become so pass oriented that several WR's are sure fire R1 picks. In fact, A. Brown is the most common No. 1 pick I have seen. Other than the last year or two, and outside Megatron in his prime, I cant remember a WR being discussed as the No.1 pick. In the last few years, I have seen some very successful teams forgo a RB for the first 2-3 rounds. It's an interesting trend.

Re: Fantasy Football 2016
First draft last night...at the forth spot, regular scoring, no PPR so RB more relevant. 3 WR, 2 RB 1 TE and no flex
1. Julio Jones 2. Allen Robinson 3. CJ Anderson 4. Jordan Reed 5. Drew Brees 6. Jeremy Hill 7. Jeremy Maclin 8. Seattle Defense 9. D Jax 10. Jeremy Langford 11. Stefon Diggs 12. Gary Barnidge 13. Derrick Henry 14. Ameer Abdullah 15. Justin Tucker Turned out decent...Barnidge in the 12 was stealing. Desean in the 9th solid pick. As a strategy especially when I comes to depth, I try to stack as many "#1s" at their teams position...meaning trying to get first options guys ie. Langford, Abdullah as the starting RBs and Desean, Diggs as the #1 receiving option on the team. Henry pick was all about taking a high rated backup within an offensive scheme that value his position. Tennessee, Minnesota, and Seattle offense strongly relies on the running game...Minnesota threw the ball less than anyone last year, Seattle has more rushes per game than any team over the last 5 years, and Tennessee scheme will revolve around running the ball with Henry and Murray additions, the building of the oline and the general massive lack of receiving talent at WR. #1 rule at fantasy football draft...never take a QB first round....rule #2 never take a Kicker until the last round.

Re: Fantasy Football 2016
Another thing with fantasy draft is I hate and rarely take any rookies as my starters. I would never take Ezekiel Elliot in the first 3 rounds of a draft this year simply because he's never played and has proven zero at this level. So many things could go wrong...injury because the physical jump in opponent, 16 game schedule, bad chemistry on team, bad scheme for the player, etc.
With my high drafted starters, Im looking at floors first...what's the minimum this guy will do?

Re: Fantasy Football 2016
I've got the 4th pick in my money league, I'm not sold on all this WR heavy stuff early

Re: Fantasy Football 2016
Go ahead and judge my team, I'm already off to a great start with my #1 wideout suffering from concussion issues and his qb is hanging out on brokeback mountain. I was hoping I could grab Cousins as a late round sleeper but there are other Skins fans in my league that snapped him up quick.
QB: Russell Wilson RB: Adrian Peterson RB2: Thomas Rawls WR: Dez Bryant WR2: Alshon Jeffery TE: Coby Fleener Flex: Sammy Watkins Bench: Derek Carr Giovani Bernard Jeremy Langford Jarvis Landry Tyler Lockett K: Steven Hauschka DEF: Cardinals DP: Lavonte David
