Re: Redskins 1st Round Pick: WR Josh Doctson (TCU)
He will have to prove that he is that kind of player. I personally would have gotten one of the d-linemen. But that's why SM is paid the big bucks and why I'm on my couch. Lol. But really it's hard to argue with Doctson's production. Outstanding college player.

Re: Redskins 1st Round Pick: WR Josh Doctson (TCU)
Maybe if we have receivers that can win 50/50 balls we'll stop throwing it 2 yards short of a 1st on 3rd down.
Doctson did not seem to be all that excited to be drafted. All the DTs are slipping due to the depth this draft. People are scooping up the other guys. Would have liked a 2nd tradeback, but like the pick overall. With the contracts we're up against I dont think we'll be able to retain DJax or Garcon.

Re: Redskins 1st Round Pick: WR Josh Doctson (TCU)
With Doctson and Crowder, I don't see Jackson or Garcon getting re-signed next year, and we will be picking another receiver in the top few rounds next year. Receiving core will look new and younger in 2017. Doctson, Crowder, 2017 draft choice will be our top 3 plus Jordan Reed. That'll work if Doctson is as good as advertised. I see both our picks (if we keep them) tomorrow being in the front 7 on defense. After that, I'd guess a RB/S will be areas of focus over the weekend.

We need that running game fixed. That's for sure. Not sure how that will be accomplished

Re: Redskins 1st Round Pick: WR Josh Doctson (TCU)
Honestly, I really don't care too much about the running game. Potentially we have one of the best passing offenses in the league. That's what we do best and I hope Gruden and Co realize that and start calling plays like New England does. I'm calling it now, KC should be near 5,000 yards this year if everyone can stay healthy.

Doctson was clearly BPA on the board and Scotty Mac always says you take BPA whether you need them or not. I believe that is what he did.
We have needed a taller receiver for years now, looks like we finally got one. Also some of you are forgetting we also have a speed burner in Ross, he should be better after another year on the team. In case we lose both DJax ad Pierre

Draft analyst quote about Doctson: "Unselfish, dependable and hungry worker - can't find anyone who will say a negative word about him." Scot strikes again!

Looking at his tape, I see a lot of DeAndre Hopkins in him, if he can give us that, beautiful

I like the pick. There will be good defensive players at our next pick. A lot of weapons. An extra one for the red zone. Defenses won't know what to do with him and Reed.

DJax was out last year, we got zero from Ryan Grant...he's was terrible. He got back and the Offense took off...why? He's the best shooter on the team and he spreads the floor unlike any other WR in the game. He takes the top of defenses...Ill take that all day long over Garcon.

Reception Perception: 2016 NFL draft prospects results - Backyard Banter
Wanted to bump this link from 30gut...I thought this was pretty good stuff before. Doctson kinda shines in these scouting reports

Re: Redskins 1st Round Pick: WR Josh Doctson (TCU)
If it comes down to DJax and Garcon after next season it will be DJax, Pierre is a tough possession receiver and so is Doctson, every really good offense needs a receiver like Djax to take the top off the defense. Think Gary Clark to Art Monk.
That being said I would put it at under 50/50 that either of them is on the team after this season, and Pierre might not make it this year, especially if they need cap space for some reason or another (like another Norman becomes available). |

Re: Redskins 1st Round Pick: WR Josh Doctson (TCU)
Garçon fits the McCloughan mold much more than Jackson. Once Jackson starts to lose a step, which could happen very soon, there goes his game.
