Re: NFL things and stuff.....

From the article:

"Flacco has the whole #QBWinz argument going for him because he's had the benefit of playing for some really good Ravens teams, but let's face it, we're now comparing Joe Flacco, Sam Bradford, and Kirk Cousins ... we're all losing here."

I really really really want to see Cousins go all Drew Brees on these dumb MF'ers.

Shot 1 -

Flacco got a lot of money – a reported $40 million signing bonus with a record-setting average salary of $21.1 million over the next six years.

But General Manager Ozzie Newsome may be the last one laughing, and he feels quite good about locking Flacco up – even at that price.

“Joe is our quarterback, and we’re proud to be able to say that. Teams struggle with the quarterback position,” Newsome said.

“Philly signing [Sam] Bradford and Washington having to put the franchise tag on [Kirk] Cousins [are examples]. They don’t have the resume that Joe has, and for us to be moving forward with a guy that has eight years and won a Super Bowl and been in three AFC championship games, it speaks volumes.”

shot 2 - ravens decided to double down on their twitter

redskins fire back - i guess, i dont understand but i dont speak twitter .. 'fix your @ button"? what does that mean?

ravens immediately apologize - i didnt know bob the builder would demand such respect. go bob.

Ravens apologize, Redskins having none of it

that was close. i was about to head up there.

For the first in maybe forever I would say the Redskins have a legitimately stronger team then the Raven's do now.

And i kinda put a good portion of blame on ozzie and his draft picks ..

outside of cj mosley, he has absolutely struck out in the first 2 rounds - perriman, elam, brown, kindle, cody, oher .. jimmy smith is meh, torrey is gone ... kruger is gone ...

not a good look.

Hence why he is stooping to comments that he made in those tweets. Legit good teams don't say stuff like that. The Ravens will be horse shit this year; book it!

It's about time they stay shitty. Those fans don't deserve it. Bunch of front-running, asshole, former Skins fans.

I thought Newsome was classier than that, guess not. Odd move on his part.

Re: NFL things and stuff.....

it's probably a case of him saying what he meant instead of what he should have said. at the end of the day it's meaningless. just words, and we almost never play them anyways. i'm not sure why he's got a hard on for the NFC east though, maybe it's just recency.

It is two big markets that he is squeezed in-between.

Re: NFL things and stuff.....

We play them in 2016 (in Baltimore). Hope Cousins throws all over their secondary.

Re: NFL things and stuff.....

Ozzie really surprised me by that whole thing. Flacco has been waaay over paid, compared to his production, so Oz is trying to "justify" the move.

It's a weak argument and a poor choice on his part.

Re: NFL things and stuff.....

the ravens have really sacrificed a lot of overall team talent to keep flacco paid. his contract really helped blow that SB team apart. they just didn't have enough money to pay anyone else.

of course, what's the alternative? keep the team and ditch the QB in a QB league? just bad circumstances. if ozzie had drafted perfectly it would have been less of an issue, but he hasn't done as well as he needed to there.

Re: NFL things and stuff.....

NFL Network is reporting a trade has been agreed upon but yet oficial until Thursday, but Eagles trade LB Kiko Alonzo and CB Maxwell for undisclosed draft picks.
They also say RB's DeMarco Murray and Ryan Matthews are available for the right price.
