Romo isn't the only "franchise" quarterback around 35, there are quite a few.
Unless Scot has an unrealistic asking price the fact RG3 is still here speaks volumes of what the league thinks of his future.

Unless RG3 is willing to redo the contract for 2016 there is no chance of someone trading for him. Period. End of story.. The only real chance the team has at getting trade value here is to make RG3 a partner in the process. He needs to sign a reworked deal for a value that reflects his current market value and in exchange let him pick a few teams that he can veto a trade. This makes both parties winners in the long run.

That said, RG3 may be perfectly happy being on the roster this year and being cut in the offseason. In that event he would have full control of his destiny and the FA market could get him a little more money if a few teams show some interest.

There are teams interested in RG3 who believe that he could be a worthwhile project. It's that 16mil for 2016 that's keeping the phones silent.

I would agree with this, except that Tim Tebow, who cannot throw a decent NFL pass to save his life, has had multiple opportunities (and brings a lot of distraction).

I am just assuming Robert and his agent are smart enough to realize no one
is going to pay him $16 mil for 2016 and he either reworks it or is cut. I could
be wrong, since it is only guaranteed for injury I would assume getting cut means he gets nothing. In reality unless Robert goes on the field and suffers
an injury that puts him out through 2016 that contract is meaningless.

That's correct.. If he gets cut there is no guaranteed money. My point is that having that contract gives him most of the power in this situation. If a team called and were willing to give two #1 picks, we couldn't do anything unless (a) that team would take the 16mil contract, which won't happen (b) RG3 would have to agree to a new deal before the trade or (c) the Redskins would have to agree to pay a portion of his 2016 contract, which would realistically be most or all of it to do a trade. So, in reality, RG3 has a lot of say in what happens here. The odds of getting a deal done that would get us trade value is slim unless it was a situation that the RG3 camp was interested in.

Griffin will get plenty of chances after he leaves Washington. Away from the sh*t show that has been this team for the last 20 years I wouldn't bet against him turning his career around either.

I could see him being traded to the Texans before Dallas.

He's never ever going to be a decent QB until he learns to pull the trigger while in the pocket. I don't care what offense he plays in, the windows are tighter in the NFL and wr's are not open as long. Someone is going to have to really coach him up.

It's just not gonna happen, unless they run RO which gets him hurt in a week or two.

Re: Trade RG3 to Dallas?

he'll have a chance to float around as a backup for a few years.

tebow got how many chances? and patrick ramsey lasted 9 years in the nfl. 9 years! he didn't have much pocket presence or ANY sense of touch passing.

Ramsey also wasn't a diva and rarely if ever was injured. RG3 will get chances but I don't see him making good on them. He needs to be broken down and rebuilt but he's too cocky. By the time he figures it out, it'll be too late. His only chance is if a coach is absolutely in love with him and is dedicated to the dual threat QB. You don't see teams do much of it because it takes an amazing level of overall athletic ability, durability, and football intelligence to pull off at the pro level. RG3 possesses none of those things. You could put Rashad Ross back there and teach him to play QB and end up with just as good a result..

Not really. Teams are just being smart and waiting for free agency. I can practically guarantee he'll have multiple teams to choose from next year.
