Re: Next years QB
I think RG going into the season as the starter definitely came down from DS. I also think JG will move forward with this so that in the likely event it doesnt work out JG will be able to go back to DS and say "we tried it twice with your guy so now we are going to try my guy".

Re: Next years QB
People in general.......always want to envision that DS is behind all provocative decisions regarding the team. As heard on m&m this morning, I'd be more inclined to believe it is more an issue of reducing offseason drama And BS speculation

The McNabb trade? Not sure I buy that, but SS has said that often times Bruce would come up to somebody and say that "you can do what you like, but Mr. Snyder strongly feels that..." statements. Could it have happened? Probably so, but more likely a piss poor move that blew up in Mike's face. The one thing that makes me believe Mike more than Dan is Mike's history with trading. When you look back, he didn't give up a bunch of picks for players. It wasn't his thing, and for it all of a sudden to start at the Skins? I do believe Dan was so enamored with Griff that he and Bruce talked Mike into that disaster of a trade.

Re: Next years QB
How about all four sucked/suck.
Shanahan was/is obviously a big reason why this team was terrible. Allen was/is a big reason why this team sucks. Snyder was/is a big reason why this team sucks. Griffin has shown more bad than good, so he sucks. Everyone that has run this franchise for the past 15 years has sucked and still sucks. That is why this franchise is one of the worst franchises in the NFL. |

I don't believe everything he says. But the stuff about Griffin I believe 100%. What part of his interview do you think he lied about?

Re: Next years QB
I'm not debating there is some truth to what Mike is saying, but my problem with him has always been he doesn't take any blame on himself.
And what's his motivation at this point to keep talking about the past? He's obviously trying to remove some of the tarnish on his name. There isn't a more convenient person to point the finger at than Snyder. |

Shanahan was happy to get along when he was getting 7 million a year...

Re: Next years QB
I find it interesting that no one is mentioning the fact that Scot McC said in his initial presser that the team should not give up on RG3. It is very likely that his opinion on this matter has led to RG3 being named the starter by J. Gruden.
As I said, I personally don't have a problem with this, as long as the team starts to rebuild other areas of the offense, special teams, and defense. You give RG3 his final shot, and if it doesn't work you at least have the infrastructure to bring in a new QB next season.

Re: Next years QB
One thing nobody's mentioning and that's the casual way that Jay Gruden tends to answer questions. When he says we're going with Robert as the number one guy, I don't think that's intended as a firm commitment to RG3. I think it simply means that he will get the starter's reps in OTAs and minicamps, and then probably leading into training camp. But I don't think it means that Cousins is ruled out from having the opportunity to unseat Robert.
If Jay finds in training camp that Robert is still behind as a pocket passer and that Cousins looks better, I think he'll make the switch. I think it's a very non committal thing at this point, based on the fact that he hates Cousins's woe-is-me approach when he gets intercepted, so much that Robert is the best of a bunch of very shitty options.

Re: Next years QB
I think the reason RG3 has been placed at the top of the depth chart going into next season is because of how much we invested to get him. We gave up two first rounders and a second. I don't think it's just about Snyder calling all of the shots. I think the organization as a whole want things to work out with Griffin. Keep in mind, RG3 is only 24 years old, he has time to improve as a pocket passer. I believe with time he can develop into a great qb. The problem with him is all the comes with him. He's always going to be a distraction no matter what he says or does. If he goes on facebook as says, "God loves everyone." Someone is going to have a problem it and bash him as humanly possible. Whether it's fair or not, this is the reality, RG3 comes with a lot of unwanted baggage.
