Say what you want I get kirk played well tonight but its hard to believe that a healthy RGIII doesn't make this game closer if not a win.

Oh...and Russell Wilson was simply the best player on the field. Give that guy all the credit.
Detroit might get him, they cut Henery today.

Ok so fire Haz. We still have Riley, we still have Biggers, Bowen isn't any good either. This is more of a personnel issue. It's more of not having enough good players on defense.

Hard to tell. Griffin would have taken more sacks and negative plays, but also we probably run the ball much better as I believe we would've had more RO. In the end, they're better, with or without Griffin.

Honestly... Only source of negativity is watching the skins every week. How anyone can argue the point I was making... Is just someone TRYING to be argumentative and holier than thou... But... I've been around since 2004... It's been seen a lot...

Along with, like I said, a franchise that clearly does actually find ways to lose games, rather than find ways to win them like good teams (like the eagles... Sadly right now... and the Seahawks)

Combination of both sadly.

Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Gameday Thread

I don't know. I think it depends on how some key injuries play out. We do have a pretty easy schedule. We could end up with a decent record. Honestly, they looked better tonight then I thought they would, but the Seahawks were shooting themselves in the foot all game and still won decisively. Still there are some bright spots, DJax is certainly what we hoped he'd be, Breeland may be a decent player, Cousins can execute a no huddle drive (without the game on the line though). Kind of surprised by the lack of production by Alfmo.

Now for complete Homerism. I have seen the Redskins comeback from this kind of early season deficit to make the playoffs 3 TIMES in recent history. Don't count this team out yet. I could see them go into the bye at 4-5, then we have all the NFCE rematches. 9-7 isn't completely out of the realm of possibilities. 10-6 isn't impossible . . .

That said, I can't stop believing, and all it does is hurt me. As much as I want to keep hoping, it would be worse to have my hopes cut down at the end of the season, at least I could give up at 1-6.

Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Gameday Thread

Positives on our roster...

Our offense outside of our RT, RG, ...and QB. Honestly, 30 teams in this league wish they had Morris, Garçon, DJax, Roberts, and Reed as weapons. No doubt.

On defense... The D line is not bad really... Keenan Robinson is going to be a good one...

That's me being positive after this game...

And honestly... That's enough pieces to NOT be a 3 win team... But... Inconsistent QB play, plus zero secondary skills in a passing league... Will do that...

Hard for Alfmo to produce on 13 carries.

Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Gameday Thread

I don't know why a lot of people expect the defense to carry the team. The offense didn't do anything until late in the first half, and the running game was non-existent (32 total rushing yards).

Oh well, moving on to the next game.

Look at the Cowboys with Marinelli, no Clayborne, Ware, Hatcher, MLB (Sean something), Bruce Carter and others and still play agressive competitive defense, it reflects their DC. Haslett looks lost like our D does many times. I would promote Baker as DC.

The trick is, not to take is serious. Lower your expectations and start being a realist. If you saw this team as anything less than a 7-9 or less (9-7 if everything went right), you are delusional. You already knew our DC was shit, and many of the same players from a 3-13 team were still on this squad. On top of that, we have a first year NFL coach feeling his way into the position. Now add the injuries to all of this. It's not going to be a surprise if the squad ends up with only 4-6 wins. We have some critical starters out of the lineup and match the Dolphins for the most injuries. Then to get mad because we don't beat the reigning world champs? Just setting yourself up for stress/anxiety for no reason.

I find it laughable that people expect the 85 Bears on defense. We're not a good team and to even have a chance at winning, both sides of the ball have to play well.

I was expecting another blowout like last week. We played slightly better, but no single unit is going to carry the other with this team.

Re: Redskins vs. Seahawks Gameday Thread

Too many "moral victory" type comments tonight. The only reason the score wasn't much worse is that the Seahawks shot themselves in the foot with penalties all night long. We got a couple of long passes and one late drive that was halfway decent. That's it.

Baker has never been a DC. The change will have to happen off season i think. Actually, the defense settled down and played ok after a terrible start. They kept having bad field position but held Seattle on a few drives.

Cowboys are playing well on defense. But it's early. Long way to go.
