I'm going to disagree with you. You won't find many late-round or undrafted backs who can run for 640 yards with an average of 4.2 YPC in their rookie year. And it's not fair to look at Helu's career stats and base your opinion off them, as he was injured in 2012, and backed up one of the top RBs in the NFL last year. I'm sure Helu would've started in 2012 if it hadn't been for two things: his injury, and Morris taking advantage of his opportunity like he did. Helu is a solid 3rd-down back and excellent depth and, like I said earlier, will take on a bigger, more valuable role this year.

Wouldn't the top RB he backed up last year be a rookie taken late in the draft. Its sorta contradicts your point.

Alfred Morris was a rare find. If we were to trade Helu away and try to draft a RB late to replace him, the chances of finding another Morris would be very, very slim.

Well I am guessing you want to leave Alfred and Terrell out of the conversation because of Shanny's influence, but I tend to think if Gore, Morris, Foster, Charles, etc. can be productive 3rd rd or later draft picks we could find someone to fill Helu's shoes.

I just don't see him as one of those core untouchables like Morris, Griffin, TW, Garcon would be on offense.

There are plenty of RBs that are late round picks that produce. Zac Stacy and Andre Ellington come to mind right now, and they were both picked in the 5th round or later.

Helu simply hasn't proven enough to me to make me think he is untouchable. I look at what he has produced... it isn't much.

Curious about who deserves credit for building the teams that have been good in recent years (like Newsome/Ravens and Belichick/Patriots. Who's responsible for the Niners and Seahawks? Does Elway pick personnel for the Broncos?

Carroll is in control of everything in Seattle, although Schneider has a huge influence, but in the end its Carroll's decision. Baalke has been with San Fran for a while and I believe controls a lot of player decisions.

That's a tough one. The pick makes it a hard sell for me because Josh Gordon already has 2 strikes for failed drug tests. I would do it if it were a third. However i would jump all over the deal of Cousins and our second to get Joe Haden. Reminds me a lot of the Champ bailey deal but instead it would be working in our favor. Getting a shutdown corner would do wonders for our secondary.

Gordon, yes (but Cleveland wouldn't do that). Haden, reluctantly no. Good player, but he's up for extension in a year.

Not sure why an extension would matter. I look at Talib, basically a one year add for the Patriots who paid a pretty good dividend. If we got Haden in a reasonable trade that could be a win for us. Of course those type trades rarely result in a win for the Skins

Eli, Giants ran fake ‘game-worn’ gear scam: lawsuit
By Kaja Whitehouse January 30, 2014 | 4:12am, nypost.com

"Quarterback Eli Manning and New York Giants brass created bogus “game-worn” football gear to pass off as the real deal — and one of the forgeries is sitting in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, an explosive new lawsuit claims."
(snip)
"The suit names Manning, the Giants, Inc., CEO John Mara, team lawyer William Heller, CFO Christine Procops, Wagner, the Skiba brothers and dry cleaner Barone as defendants."

Would you buy a used jersey from John Mara?

Since his link isn't working, I'll post one that is.

If there is a football god this will be true. I don't care about manning but it sounds like a systemic issue with the org. They need their ass knocked down a few pegs. I can only dream of criminal charges.
