I think Briles fits more of the Spurrier mold, not Franklin.

This is a good hire. Those against it are irrationally against it. It is fine to have quibbles but I don't see a "perfect" candidate out there. Jay has been a HC coach before, knows how to succeed and is respected. Now we see what kind of staff he puts together and then see what he can do. Maybe he'l be terrible. Maybe not. No one knows. But you can;t convince me this is a bad hire. I like it.

The more I read on Jay Gruden the more comfortable I get with this (potential) hire. I can see Raheem Morris and Sean McVay as the DC and OC also.
