Mike Shanahan was Ready to Leave Washington after 2012 Season
I don't have a strong opinion on either the validity or impact of this article, so I'm just going to leave it here for Gameday reading. Beat the Chiefs, PLZ.

Re: Mike Shanahan was Ready to Leave Washington after 2012 Season
There is probably some truth to this story. It is well known that Snyder likes to pal around with certain players. To me it is so unprofessional for the owner to do such things. From what I've heard, Snyder was the one wanting RG3 to play the first few weeks, while Shanahan wanted to hold him out.

Re: Mike Shanahan was Ready to Leave Washington after 2012 Season
SPONTANEOUS STRONG EMOTIONAL OPINION ALERT
No sympathy here from me for Shanahan. The owner was a known farce when you accepted the job, a job you accepted because 1) it paid more, and 2) you thought it would be easier to win, than the other jobs would be out here. Then you go and trade for a star quarterback and are SHOCKED when the owner (who has a history of doing this) buddies up to him. Just leave, Mike Shanahan. Don't ever come back.

I think if Shanny is not fired after the season ends he will leave... He will not get an extension...

I believe this story. See past examples Clinton Portis and Lavar Arrington.
RG3 better realize that Snyder will turn on him just as quick.

Mike is done here and that was obvious after the whole off season RG3 tension going around. Honestly it doesn't surprise me , this organization is a joke and always has some stupid drama going on smh

Given that he sees himself as still employable in the NFL, I think he should be really thankful he got that trade done. Saved his career. Meanwhile, the jury is still out on the quality of the trade for the Redskins organization. Shanahan won it personally when he won the NFC East.

Speaking of f-ing farces: It takes five years to rebuild a team. Unless I decide theres something I don't like in the organization after year three. Then it can't be salvaged.
What a loser.

Florio reaction:
Report: Shanahan was ready to leave Redskins in January | ProFootballTalk Firing someone with cause is not as simple as MF implies here, but it's probably justified in this case.

Re: Mike Shanahan was Ready to Leave Washington after 2012 Season
@russellmania980 As for the whole cleaning out the office thing before the Seattle game, I would be stunned. I saw no evidence of that in any way. #Redskins
1) While somewhat annoying at times, I tend to like Chris Russells reporting. I'm calling BS on this one that he was ready to leave that week and cleaned out his locker. Say what you will about Mike Shannahan, but he's professional, had the hottest team in the NFL at that point and was going into the playoffs. I don't think he was gingerly cleaning out his office so he could leave after the game. 2) This is the NFL, I'm sorry but some guys are just going to be treated differently than others. Who gives a shit if Snyder sent out security with Rg3? He IS a star. 80% of the team if you passed them in the mall most wouldn't even know who they were. Rg3 would be mobbed and isn't exactly a huge dude to take care of himself either. 3) For the Snyder said "nothing to Cousins after the Browns game" I'm calling BS on that one too. Snyder, first an foremost is a huge Redskins fan, I find it hard to believe he would go into the locker room post game on a 4 game win streak and not say congrats to a QB who just had a great game. Maybe after the Ravens game; to see the status of RG3 but I'm sorry, just don't buy it. This report, just like the "RG3 doesn't want bad plays" report just reeks of BS to me. I mean I have no clue one way or another; but it just seems so far out there that I can't believe it. I will say, I believe when there is smoke there is fire, and I'm not stupid enough to think things are all good at Redskins Park, and I think Shanny is gone after this season; but I don't really buy into this one.

When we start winning and somebody in the FO starts realizing what the meaning of professionalism is.
