You and I see eye to eye so much these days, it's eerie.

I agree that the scheme has been a problem. This O-line isn't built for a traditional pocket passing game, yet that's what we've tried to run, and Griffin has taken a beating in the pocket. Where are the bootlegs, the misdirection, etc. As much as Robert needs to play through the rust, Boy Wonder (Kyle) needs to get his act together.

The problem is you can't really separate Kyle from Mike, mike from Kyle.

At the time the schedule first came out, I had us going 11-5, losing to Philly, Green Bay, Denver, San Fran and Atlanta. So I'm going to remain true to my original predictions. Althought looking at it now, I didn't think we would lose today's game by 18. If I had to make predictions now judging by how we're playing, I'd have us going 6-10. Things have got to change or this can get real ugly.

Re: Skins vs Packers post game thread

We can beat Detroit, as I watched that game after ours ended. The Lions statistically won the game, but a turnover on the 5 yard line and yet more stupid penalties kept the Cards in the game. Stafford is a rather stiff operator, and doesn't run to even save his own ass. If we can get back to last year's scheme on offense and let Robert do his thing we should dominate Detroit. They do have an OK D, but it is only OK. Haslett better find a scheme that allows him to double team Megatron and keep at least a guy on Burleson or we will be torched yet again. A nice pass rush should do the trick though.

Stafford doesn't scramble at all, he is a statue, a pure pocket passer. Nice blitz packages by Haslett will help against Megatron. Thing is you will have to double team Calvin, but still keep Burleson covered. Pettigrew still has dropititis for the most part so a LB can take him Rambo better learn how to tackle properly in 7 days as well.

I did and I 100% stand by it, get a HC and OC that understand how to run an NFL offense and you'll see RG3 excel. Lose the Read-Option crap, run a Pats/Saints type O and use the entire field and you will see RG3 put up consistent HoF numbers.

Which Linebacker? Riley looked a little slow on coverage today in Finley and we already know Fletch has let age handicap him.

Exactly. Right now I wish we had Norv as our OC. I know he didn't win jack with my namesake, but he did a lot offensively statwise with a 7th round QB from Tulsa, an over the hill RB (Allen) and some wheeze kids for WRs(Ellard and Sheppard).

Don't have to be super fast with Pettigrew. He usually does shorter routes. If we were talking about the Pettigrew of 2010-11, then yeah we would have a problem. He has gone down a notch in skill level it seems, until he gets his act together. He had a couple catches today, but also still has dumb drops. Megatron and Burleson are the ones that can burn us bad.

Blitz packages are probably going to be in abundance at FedEx next Sunday for the Skins. Banging up Stafford or making him rush his passes are the main key to stopping the Lions. Kid is like a deer in headlights most of the time outside the pocket.

Dont leave out the bad kicking job that Sav Rocca has been doing as well. He had yet another short kick today as well. Thats not our issue for losing these games but thats not an nfl punter stat line who kicks line drives

This team looked so promising in preseason. If we were even 1-1 right now and had at least made a game of it today I think most of us would still be positive. This though has just been a complete shit show. Simply unbelievable.

They will adjust to three step drops once the Skins start bringing more pressure. The key will be getting to him while only rushing 4 or 5 guys. The Packers adjusted at halftime and went with three step drops every time the Skins tried to blitz. Secondary still needs to cover their receivers for a couple of seconds and now that the Skins have shown a liability in stoping the run against any running back/OLine... Skins will probably give up at least 30 points.
