And the Eagles are going to run out of gas. There is no way they run that offense for 16 full games. They couldn't even run it for longer than a half.

I started calming down in the 4th when I realized the same thing, Griffin is too good to be on a losing team period. The guy carried Baylor and now look at that program. I bet we still win 9-10 games and Philly only wins 8 max

Re: Skins v Eagles post game thread
I do agree that the EAGLES will not be able to run that offense all year.
They ended the game with 76 plays run, and we had 70. So it wasn't like they were running over 90 plays. I don't think they will ever be able to run 90 plays.. THe NFL is not college... You can't keep running fast plays like that for a whole game, and not expect to give the other team a chance to catch up. You have to run the clock, and what hurt Philly last night was they ran out of gas, and almost didn't cross the finish line.. If we could of at least put up another score or two in the first half.. I feel like we would of blown them out because their offense looked so worn down, and tired. I saw McCoy getting treatment for cramps, and he was puking. I saw Vick limping around and barely able to run out of the pocket. If they honestly believe they are going to be running 90 plays a game, then they will be out of players to play with by week 12.

It's debatable whether we have the talent. The offensive line is really questionable at this point. Monty got embarrassed early and often last night, as did the right side. And Moss is still our best WR, but that's not good enough so RG has to be able to find the hot hand each and every game, much like Drew Brees has perfected in NO. Some games it will be Garcon, but people need to learn he's never been a consistent producer and at this point there's really no reason to expect otherwise. And defensively we've got some talent issues at safety. But yeah, over the course of the season we could pull together and make a run. It's gotta start in Green Bay though.

Re: Skins v Eagles post game thread
Oakland and Detroit are clearly not pushovers. We're better than both, but we're also a good deal better than Philadelphia, and well, that worked out wonderful.
If we can't get it together against Green Bay, it's hard for me to see a start better than 1-3. If we fix the main issues from last nights game, there is no reason we can't rip off three straight and look really good going into the bye. Thinking goes like this: if the Redskins can correct these issues on a short week, then it's okay to write Monday Night off as a poor effort, and move on from it. If the issues are compounded against a good team, then getting blown out at home by a bad team is a pretty good indicator that the team isn't good.

Re: Skins v Eagles post game thread
I think it all came down to penalties and not capitalizing when we needed to. Get a turn over here and there and don't come up with as many points as we should have.
RGIII COULD have been rusty, but hell if completing 30 passes for over 300 yards and 2 TD's is rusty we have a LOT to look forward to.

Re: Skins v Eagles post game thread
RG3's overall performance, I thought, was fine. He wasn't used in a way where he had a lot of opportunities to light up the scoreboard, and on the third and longs that he was in a lot he was inaccurate throughout the first half, but that's not markedly different from last season.
There were two or three easy throws that he missed that you expect a pro QB to convert, and two or three balls that he forced into tight coverage instead of coming off his first read. That's about 12% of his day he'd like to have back, which is not insignificant. But I also feel that if the Redskins had come out more determined to light up the scoreboard than they were, Griffin's inaccuracies would have been a minor footnote and not the main story. The other 40 plays he looked like Robert Griffin. I don't want to diminish how much him being off affects this team, because its clearly a lot. But Vick was off too last night and the Eagles came out attacking in a way that made that not matter.

Re: Skins v Eagles post game thread
We were philly's guinea pig last night and they worked us, we will see them again and play much better on both sides along with beating ourselves with turnovers and penalties.
i came to a conclusion. last few games of last year griffin was 100% there mentally but not physically with his knee and now it is just the opposite. he's healthy just gotta trust his knee and back in his groove throwing. I say/hope in a few games he's back in form never know though but that's my take.

Re: Skins v Eagles post game thread
Vick's thoughts:
"I've never been a part of anything like this," Michael Vick said, via TheMMQB.com. "When the first quarter was over, I thought we were about to go into halftime. Unreal. The only thing I could tell myself was, 'It's going to be a long season.'" I just don't see that as the way you want your qb thinking after the first quarter of the season. Maybe Kelly learns, and that will be to his credit, but right now, I don't see it becoming a new way. |
