Re: Roster Cuts
Yeah. I am shocked that Wilds was cut and Jimoh made the roster. I've avoided the Ade-busting until now, but the truth is that he worries me every time he lines up. I've never seen a CB get burned so many times and NOT get cut. Joe must be seriously desperate for Special Teamers.

Re: Roster Cuts
so whats our PS now?
wilds, mccune, farris, warner, ??, ?? , ??, ?? I think wilson and barnes might also make it along with of the other cut CBs, that'd leave one spot with no one worthwhile filling it... It might be good white got hurt, otherwise there'd be a choice between a guy that'll help you this year (koz) or a guy thats holding a roter spot hostage in hopes he'll be better next year. I still think our CB depth takess a huge nose dive after #3, here's hoping its not a problem. |

I wouldn't mind seeing raymer go after last year though, and i don't know how ade stays on the team, but he's figured out how to stay on the roster this long, so i'm just going to learn to live with it. I understand the taylor gripes, but he's talented and had some bad luck. WRs cant play through ruptured kidneys and broken toes, and i would like to see him healthy for at least a few games before writing him off. WR is one of the positions were it can take 3 years to see what you've got (jimmy smith, etc) and i'd hate to have spent a 2nd round pick to give someone else a free #2 receiver. |

Re: Roster Cuts
Just gettin in guys....wow the cuts are in! Seems like it was just yesterday we were all chomping at the bit waiting for training camp to even start! Look at us now...
Anyway, I was definitely suprised to see Ron Warner go. Pretty much everything else was no big deal. I felt like Khary Campbell beat out B.Barnes - glad he made it as well as Nemo/Rock. I'm hopeful Jacobs will come around and play through some of these nicks and show us what he can do. Glad he made the squad though. Oh, I was suprised to see Raymer and Friedman make it, I thought for sure Raymer was out of here. Looks like the Clemons brothers both made it - Chris and Nick! |

Re: Roster Cuts
Bottom line, Taylor Jacobs is way too talented to cut. He has his best football ahead of him. Talk of cutting him is foolishness.
I can't say I mind any of the moves. One guy I'm excited about who we haven't talked much about here on the Warpath lately is Chris Clemons. GW seemed to realize what a weapon he is in situational pass rushing last year. He reminds me of when we used to bring in ND Kalu on 3rd down, he'd always hurry the QB. I'm glad Clemons is still a Redskin. Definitely nice to see Rock and Nemo still with us. Rock looked pretty tough to stop on a lot of those screens. Question though, would one of them have been cut if Manny White hadn't gotten hurt? Or would they have cut White or Sellers? |

If you think about Samuels stayed healthy all year. So I guess they're betting that Samuels will continue to be healthy and Jansen, who never, ever misses a game (with the exception of last year) will be healthy this year too. I think before he got hurt last year he hadn't missed a game since playing at Michigan! |

Re: Roster Cuts
I'm surprised David Terrell was released. I'd be interested in Terrell for the fact he played with Patten and I've got some friends from the Boston area that love the guy.

Re: Roster Cuts
I'm really suprised by the cuts of Wilds and Mccune and on a smaller level Warner. Sure Wilds would have been ranked 4th on the depth chart but thankfully that would have meant no more Ade. Mccune was pretty quiet this summer which can be both a good and a bad thing for a rookie. Hopefully these three and Farris stick with the practice squad.

Re: Roster Cuts
No surprises here in my opinion! I'm also glad to see Groom getting the punting job. I think it came down to his holding for Hall on that tying field goal at the end of regulation that won the job for him.
Yes, I'm happy with Cartwright and Nemo making the team. They're showing alot of patience by keeping Taylor Jacobs.

Personally, I'm happy for the most part with the decisions made by the coaches. Like many of you, I'm surprised we kept both Raymer and Friedman. You'd think Wilson would've been a better option, especially to back up Jansen (although Ray Brown can do that too). I'm not sure Friedman has done much to stay with the team, but perhaps he's seen as the best backup option to Dockery. Raymer will be a valuable backup for his experience.
I'm also surprised we kept both Killings and Boschetti. I would've thought Warner would've made the team ahead of one of them, and I also wished we could've kept Aki Jones. Despite Jacobs' injuries and Antonio Brown's drops, I'm not surprised that they're both with the team. If Jacobs returns, he will undoubtedly beat out Thrash and Brown for the 3rd spot, and he could eventually challenge for a starting position. Farris deserves to make the practice squad. Dyson might also make the PS, although his best quality (veteran leadership) is something we already have in Patten and Thrash. Parson had some nice kick returns, but they were due mostly to bad tackling; he probably won't be back. Gotta feel bad for him.
