Belichick never likes players who negotiate with other teams. Wouldn't be surprised IF skins sign Talib it's because Belichick get impatient & walks away from the table to persue another DB.

Any cornerback Belichick does not want, is one I would go for. Man cannot scout a corner to save his life.

I'm not particularly excited about the idea, but if Raheem Morris, Haslett, Shanahan and Allen are all on board, i'll defer to their judgement. Has and Morris wouldnt consider bringing anyone in with a checkered past unless they were confident he'd work in their system. I we were to make a "big" move, i'd want it to be for Winston. Hes turning 30 this year, but he seems like a perfect fit for our scheme.

Yeah I'm gonna say if we want him, he will fit.

Morris knows him well.

It would be nice to hear about Fred and/or Talib today. HTTR24_7 said that he thought some restructures would happen, which certainly would seem to be clearing the way for some signing.

Prepare for the worst; hope for the best.

Thats my mentality on that right now, because ultimately I see him going back to New England.

It looks like the media is starting to fall in line with Schefter with the impression that Talib stays in New England.

Aqib Talib Expected to Return to New England Patriots - FanSided - Sports News - An Independent Sports Network.

We are in trouble if we don't get a decent DB before the draft. You can't draft a starting DB in the second round! Talib isn't a shutdown corner, but if his head is screwed on right that day he is above average.

umm I'm not sure about that. Ladarius Webb 3rd rounder. Richard Sherman 5th rounder. Brandon Flowers 2nd rounder. Brent Grimes undrafted. Cortland Finnegan 7th rounder. Brandon browner undrafted. You can find a good CB beyond the 2nd rounder. Plus this year in the draft the secondary is loaded with talent all the way into the 4th round.

But yes, it would be nice to of signed talib and worried about depth and starting safety for the draft.

Re: Official Redskins Free Agency Thread 2013

With so many CBs available and not many signings or apparent demand for them...this might play into our favor if their prices do down as we get closer to the season and they don't have new deals with new teams.

We should be able to afford a couple quality CBs.

The same thing happening at tackle too? Jake Long, Winston, Clady, Albert, Vollmer, Smith...not signed.

I get that you can develop 2nd rounders or later into quality starters, but almost never do they come out first year and do extremely well.

Richard Sherman was drafted in the 5th so there goes that .

Good drafting and player development is what we need, not more FA signings.

Time to pull out of the talib sweepstakes and look at some more realistic and affordable options. Lets get a couple minor restructures done to re-sign Fred, Pac Man Jones at CB, a Cory Lynch or other similar player at FS, and Justin Forsett at RB. Probably could do this all for 5 million and then concentrate on the draft.

To be perfectly honest, I would rather have Talib.

Have no idea what this means?

Asante Samuel might disagree with you on the 2nd point...
