When you sign a huge contract that averages you 16.5 mil per year(and you are a wide receiver), you can't expect much talent around you or any to be brought in. You have to choose, do you want to win, or do you want to get paid. He (and Fitz) chose to get paid.

Topping Jerry Rice in any receiving category is no small task. Calvin Johnson is certainly one of the greatest wide receivers of all time and he's nowhere near his prime yet.

He's 27, how is he nowhere near his prime? This is his prime.

I feel sorry for no man who plays football for millions of dollars. If i was only five inches taller, 35 ponds heavier, 3 seconds faster in the 40, could catch, and was alot stronger i could have been a contender!

In all fairness both teams were trending upward when they signed, also they could have jumped ship and signed elsewhere. Something to be said for loyalty.

Arizona made a huge blunder in acquiring their QB (Kolb) and Detroit has basically the same team from last year. I don't think you can solely pin these teams' loses on the WR contracts.

If i was starting a franchise tomorrow he would be my number one choice at wr. Look what he does on Detroit. Rice was great, but he had hall of famers all around him on both sides of the ball. I cant even imagind what CJ would have done on say SF in the 80's. my God.

Totally. CJ reminds me of Barry Sanders. Plays on a not so great team and everyone keys on him yet he still gets it done.
